Biography

Born on the 27th of June, 1964, Park Joon Gyu is a Korean actor that has had an interesting career, both in film and in television shows. His first role was a small one on the drama A Faraway Nation, which aired on KBS2 in 1996. From there, he took a hiatus from acting in the spotlight until the year 2000, when he scored a role on Medical Center. Starting in 2002, his career began to kick off. He had already been cast in his first film, 2001's My Boss, My Hero, which started to get him noticed by casting agents and directors throughout Korea. From there he went on to be in a variety of movies, including My Wife is a Gangster 2, Bravo My Life, The Fox Family, and The Art of Seduction.

Starting in 2007, Park Joon Gyu began to transition out of acting in movies, instead deciding to focus on television. Most recently he played the king of the underworld in Arang and the Magistrate, a fantasy melodrama set in the past. The show aired on MBC until mid-October of 2012.
