Biography

So Yi Hyun is the stage name of the actress Jo Woo Jung, best known for her role in Resurrection, among other series. Born in Jeonju, North Jeolla, South Korea, she knew she wanted to become an actress, and majored in acting at Suwon University. She then began modeling in order to increase her popularity. One of her first appearances was in 2002 in the music video for the Lee Ki Chan song, Cold.

Her first actual acting role was on the television show Yellow Handkerchief in 2003, when she played the younger sister to one of the main characters. The following year was a break out year for her. She acted in her first film, Father and Son: The Story of Mencius. She was also cast as one of the main characters on the show April Kiss. The show was a win in the eyes of fans.

The next few years saw So Yi Hyun taking lead role after lead role. She acted in shows such as Resurrection, Hyena, Assorted Gems, Gloria, and Aeja’s Older Sister, Minja, which would later come to be considered modern classics. Her latest role is in the show Cheongdamdong Alice.
