Biography

Song Joong Ki was born on September 19th, 1985 in Daejeon, South Korea. In high school his parents enrolled him in many social classes in order for Song to conquer shyness, improve his social skills. Among these classes was an acting class, where Joong Ki first developed a love of the art. During college, he studied business, but soon left his academic studies behind to pursue acting.

Joong Ki first appeared on the Korean show Quiz Korea, but made his true acting debut in the movie A Frozen Flower in 2008. He went on to play small parts in several shows, movies,, also did some Modeling. He also wrote a bestselling book, called Beautiful Skin Project, which detailed health, beauty tips for men.

His first big break came when he acted in the drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. This role elevated him into Korean stardom. After, he toured through different places around the world. He also acted in a critically acclaimed role on the show Tree with Deep Roots. In addition, he narrated a documentary, Tears of the Antarctic. Finally, after many supporting roles, Joong Ki got his chance to play the lead in the television show Nice Guy in 2012.
