Biography

Elvis Tsui (Tsui Kam-Kong) is a Chinese actor based in Hong Kong. He was born in Heilongjian province and is ethnic Manchurian. After graduating from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a degree in arts. He went to Hong Kong to start a career as an artist but was not successful. In 1981, he was accepted into an actors' training course and starting appearing in martial arts films such as Shaolin Prince (1983), Shaolin Intruders (1983), Shaolin and Wu Tang (1983).

Because of his tough-guy looks, he was often cast in villainous roles in the martial arts and action genres in both films and TV dramas. Notable mentions in dramas series are: Book and Sword, Gratitude and Revenge (2003), Assassinator Jing Ke (2004), and Chinese Paladin (2005).

He also took on some roles in erotic films such as Ancient Chinese Whorehouse (1994), Sex & Zen (1991), and Sex & Zen II (1996). His performance in the acclaimed sex-comedy film, Viva Erotica (1996), garnered for him a Best Support Actor nomination at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

In recent years he has continued his acting career in mainland China focusing more on TV dramas such as The Legend of the Condor Heroes (2008), Journey to the West (2011), and Legend of Chu and Han (2013).
