Reviews

I wanted to update on my review how much I have re-watched this drama after the first time I watched it. It is such a good drama, it leaves you with the feeling that you might never find another drama as good as this one. Which of course is not true, but it is the fact that you feel this way what makes you come back to watch again. I have recommended this drama, and every person I recommend it to has to say something good about it. It has everything: good acting, good writing, good directing. Most of all, it has a wonderful message, the one that keeps getting overlooked in the common things we live day by day, but that remains there always. The message of love. Not because we are good neighbors, or friends ,or family members, but because we are human beings. The simplest reason why to love one another.

Its here. I loved this drama so much, I paid $30 to keep watching more episodes on some website which was where I could find it with subs, when it first came out. No other site was subbing this. LOVED IT!!

I couldnt stand how others are bashing this drama for reasons that are in truth what makes this drama different, so Im reviewing now instead of at the end how I usually do it. So far, LSG is playing a mean jerk without a reason why. That is not the same as playing a jerk with a sappy story to excuse his actions. We cant like EVERYTHING about a person. In fact, I think that Hang Ah being sweet and tough at different moments show how there is many layers to a person, that there’re many different things that shape who we are. She can be tough and sweet and that is more believable to me. Here is what I hope wont happen: LSG's character changing and becoming sweet all of the sudden. I want him to grow as a man, but I wish he keeps some of his meanness around. A person doesnt change completely, a person grows up and learns how to control their flaws. Also hope they dont give an excuse why LSG is mean. I have friends that are mean just for the heck of it, they are still good people, and often the most trustworthy.

I think they had a good start and good ending. Good crime drama. :)

This drama I dropped the first time I started watching because I could not deal with my heart beating so fast with every episode. I'm being honest, I knew it was one of those drama that would leave you heartbroken at the end one way or the other... because its just too intense for a soft ending. However, I managed the courage to finish it and I wasn't wrong hahaha... but I still loved it. I always did. Perhaps too much and that's why I was taking it too personal. Seriously, this drama is a MUST WATCH!! I have watched it now two times, not including the time I dropped it. I will watch it again since its been a year after my last watch. Nail biting will start in the next few seconds. :p

The drama has a plot like any other Korean drama that gets attention, the difference is the actors in this drama are not your typical mainstream actors but rising stars. The plot is pretty common, nothing too different but I like the interactions of the characters and the resolve to persevere of the main character (who btw is a real person since this is based on a true story). I understand not everyone will like it, and that's okay, but if you haven't watched past 4 episodes, don't rate just because the actress has plastic surgery and its annoying, that's not a valid rating. You can always answered others review and state your opinion, but to rate based on an actor's personal choice of lifestyle gives the drama FALSE lower ratings.

I really loved this drama, there were parts that made me frown a bit but you cant expect something to be PERFECT. I loved the fact that the main leads are not necessarily meant for each other, it was more realistic to see the romance change and not become something that never dies, since love can change and its not the end of the world for anyone. I liked that, because it shows people not to hold on to the path which might not be the right one even when it seems like it is.

I have finally found a historical drama that goes well with my taste. It's a thriller above anything else, but it has romance, comedy in some parts; however, the mystery and suspense its predominant. The acting is very clean; all the actors are doing an excellent job. Also, excellent writing and directing. If you don’t like dark, crude stories, I doubt this one is for you, but you sure will be missing on a great story. In some historical dramas its hard for me to follow them because they are slow pace, and kind of confusing. But this drama is neither... the good writing makes for a simple understanding of the history. You will love it. :D

I think this year Korea brought us the best of the best so far... well, as far as I have been watching dramas. Anyway, this drama is well done, and the actors are doing an excellent job. There is so much chemistry between the leads... wow. I'm loving it.

This drama is good. It has good story, good acting, a good script and the director really nailed it with this one. I think World's Within was done well, but the slow pace, and focusing on detail didn't work with a story like that one, it made it too slow and boring at times. However, it works with this story well. I love the way he focuses on small things that make the story the more meaningful. And the script... wow, like I said, very well written. I find characters actually say what real people would say, nothing seems forced. LOVE IT.

From what I saw, the drama looks great, and the actors are really good. Kim Rae Won is, as always, extraordinary. However, I could not get into it. Perhaps later ill come back and finish this drama.

Maybe in the future Ill come back to this drama and watch it. But right now, I just cant get into it. I have tried several times since I love both leads and they are doing an awesome job, but its not them. The story at the beginning doesn't hold you in, if its true that later turns interesting, then they should have show something at the beginning to hold the viewer's interest.

I dont care what other people say about the ending, I haven't gotten there yet, but this drama has three things that make a drama excellent. 1. Gripping, unique story. 2. Good directing. And 3. The awesome actor that is Park Shin Yang. He is one of the best actors I have seen in dramas. Must watch!

These little kids kept me watching all the way. Cute drama.

This drama could have been so much more!! I can't believe it was so disappointing. Some might like it, and that is their choice, but for me it was lacking in so many ways. Eric is a great actor, I love him, and he was good here too, but the story was just not well told.

I really liked this series, something different while having the typical romantic story. But, it was a bit too dragging at times. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

But it was decent enough to watch. Great actors though.

Its a drama with complex characters, and gives you a touch of reality that is hard to argue. I liked it.

It was really entertaining and I found it was more aggressive in its approach at portraying love between couples. Most kdramas make you believe people in Korea don't know anything about love until they reach 30 (I know its supposed to be cute... but really, I want to see the real way Koreans behave when in love, not some fairy tale just because "its cute").

I really wanted to give this drama my all, I like Go Ah Ra, and I'm always up to give new comer actors support because I think acting its not something easy. However, this drama was kinda disappointing, I was bored from the start.

I don't care how many thumbs down I get, I didn't like this drama much. I was bored at some parts, I had to stop watching half way through. Sorry Rain.

I can't really say its bad, because it has a beautiful story of love. But I found myself bore with some episodes, which is not a good sign for me. Definitely not my favorite sonata.

I enjoyed this drama... funny, cute, and plenty of romance. But not the best drama ever in my opinion. What I enjoyed more than anything was the soundtrack and the romance between the second leads.

Its fun to watch. Not a serious comedy at all, but really funny and sweet. I agree with NinoTigBliss, Park Min Woo is the cutest thing in the drama, just love him. :)

Serious drama about life. Yes, kind of slow paced, but highly enjoyable if you like heartfelt stories.

I have read all kinds of different reviews. Some say this drama is the best drama ever, others say this drama basically sucks. Right!!! Its neither the best EVER, or the WORST. But this drama is a good drama to watch and learn a few things about love. I enjoyed it. :)

the ones who are disappointed, and expecting Dracula to meet Sherlock Holmes but... this drama KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 stars still says its awesome :D

This drama is one of the best this year. Truly amazing acting; well written, directed. The story is heartwarming and it will make you feel, truthfully (if you don't cry watching dramas this will be your first) Its not so sad that you can't watch it, but it has lots of good messages and gives out love, love, love... I would recommend this drama to anyone. The second male lead... wow, I just cant say what he did, I'm too overwhelmed with him. He did wonderful at portraying his character, I felt everything he felt. I truly did. The character became so real to me, even when the drama is over, I still wish for him to find love and be happy... it didn't end with The End. Not for me.

I agree with others, the second lead had no real reasons why to turn into the person she became, other than just because it was her nature and the circumstances brought out the worst in her, but not just because someone else made her into a monters (still not really excusable). However, the acting is good, it has a great message and I think its worth a watch. The overall story its great.

It was a nice drama to watch to pass the time, while waiting for other dramas that would get my attention more. I thought the acting was great, although there was a lack of romantic chemistry between the lead couple. It seemed as though they were siblings and not really in love. But its watchable.

Its watchable.

Highly recommend this to all historical drama fans. Loved it! I'm sorry, I'm not supposed to cry for the bad guys but I had to for Giteh on episode 29; that is what I call having big ones.

This is good so far, full of mystery from the beginning, all of the characters have a hidden agenda, I love it.

My first review, this is what I said: I wanted to watch it sooo much because the lead actors are very good. I love Hyun Bin. However, like somebody else said, it does not hook you in. I think too realistic, where is the mystery? If i want reality to this extend, my life is good enough for that. I want to be hooked by a story. Second time around: I was very bored one night, out of dramas to watch and just went for this one again. I wanted to give it another chance. Its well acted... I think it deserves a 4 stars rating based on quality. But if I were to think of how much I was entertained I would give it 3 stars.

Actors over-acting, lots of cliche scenes... I really like Rain and Lee Jung-ji but I don't care for this drama. Its not bad to watch as one of those comedies that are supposed to be stupid and stuff, but not really the type of drama I was expecting. I give it three stars since it might just be aiming for really funny cliche scenes on purpose, however I can't help see it as a total mistake. (Love the thumbs down, my reviews wouldn't do without at least one!)

It was sooo great I watched it in two days. I like that the lead male character is full of flaws, but still you cant hate me. Good acting, and great story.

I hate Ryu soo's character. The acting is not that good but the story is very interesting. Best past life, the 4th one (the original one)

Eric is the best... I just love to see him act, he is so natural and funny. I'm still carrying a hangover from Que Sera, Sera. I miss him so much I have to watch Super Rookie. But Im surprised to see that its a very funny drama. Two thumps up!!!

Whatever the case might be, that you don't like this or that other thing; when you are bored, fed up with drama, and tired of jerks and bratty princesses, you want reality because it is reassuring in its simplicity. At times very sad, yes. But reality is sad... what planet are you from? But that is another drama... really enjoyed this one.

It started really good, and I was so into it, what happened? It got so annoying towards the end, the issues with the mother, I lost interest. I still think it has potential, but something lost me somehow... (sigh)

I agree with others on this site, this is the best Korean comedy I have seen so far, and it has my favorite comedy actor too!! Can't beat that! I wish people would stop watching shows based on how popular the actors are and give this other not-so-popular actors a try. I have stopped watching some of the most popular shows of the season to watch this one and others not so popular because the story is more interesting. I give it five stars! Awesome comedy.

Love the ending of this drama because it shows something very realistic while the drama was very unrealistic: DEATH IS NEVER ACCIDENTAL!!!! when is your time to die, deal with it and accept it. I like the meaning of the story. I like the message of the story. However (and I dont care how many thumbs down you give me, pft) I didn't like the way the writers did it with this series. Who Are You? Still remains the best in my heart! :) now you can all hate if you want... go ahead, I'm not afraid of you... :P

The end of episode 2 threw me off... Watching this drama you can tell there is a good director behind this. The actors are great, although I have no doubt in Ji Sung as an actor, however here he seems to be at his best, and I suppose the same goes for everybody else even when they seem to be good on their own. Behind a good director there is often promise of a good cast and story... this happens to be the case with Royal Family. I'm really, really blown away. Excellent drama! BEST ENDING I HAVE SEEN IN A DRAMA FOR A WHILE NOW!!! AWESOME. :)

I enjoyed it. I don't think it was the best drama. But it was funny at times, sad, and im a big big big fan of Jang Hyuk so i couldn't miss it for the world.

One of my favorite dramas. This drama is so great you have to watch it! It has a different story from most dramas, and it is played out very well. Even when its a comedy it has its serious parts, and they are the key to the whole story. I love the lead actors, the father and Yoon Kye Sang. They did such a good job, its fun to watch the drama just because of those two. Truly a good drama. Its worth it!

Love Ji Sung. Its a good drama, and very well act. I find I love Ji Sung more and more... Ill have to check out more dramas of this actor.

I like the American actor in this drama, he is super good and funny. I also like the parents (the actors did a good job). I like the drama, but i just cant bring myself to agree with what they did to their parents at the beginning. Good watch.

I was hooked even from the synopsis... and minus the unnecessary flashbacks, I have to say I love this drama. Its a matter of taste, I love classical music and this director has impress me in someway with the other season series, although he was never able to entirely grab me until I came across this one. I guess it took 4 to hook me, but like I said, its a matter of taste, so if you don't like classical music then this drama might not be for you. I'm in love with Jae Ha. Wonderful drama!! love it! I have a new drama on my top 5 list.

There is this very old drama, forgot the country (I think Australian or perhaps British) which plot is similar to this one, a wealthy woman marries a man and later finds out he is cheating on her with her best friend when he takes her sailing with the intention of killing her. She is saved by a doctor and undergoes surgery and plans revenge on her husband... the problem with this drama is that if they would have kept it as simple as that it would have been GREAT!! but all the twists and turns made it too much and too unrealistic... both male leads are awesome! Kim Tae Hyun is my new favorite actor! He is really the best. Nice ending!

This drama was very funny and cute. It was fun watching Jang Hyuk play immature roles, I'm so used to watching him in very mature roles like Thank You, Chuno, Midas... This was refreshing and very very sweet. :)

dying to watch this drama... of course i'll change my rating once I start watching... when is it going to be here???? love Jang Hyuk

This drama is awesome. I love Jang Hyuk and Da Hae in this drama, reason why I thought I would love them in Chuno but prefer them here. This drama is not the best drama out there and its full of the typical things we are all so bored with but... its lovely, its a lovely story and the leads are so awesome together I LOVE IT!!!

I wanted it to end the way it did. And all I have to say now after watching the last episode is that Lee Jong Hyuk is one hell of an actor. Forget Jang Hyuk -who is also good as always- this guy, Jong Hyuk, is just amazing!!! WOW anyway the ending was as it should be! Nice ending. Jang Hyuk! love him! :)

I love pasta, I cook it all the time especially after watching this drama :) This drama is one of the best out there right now, in terms of story, characterization, and other important things that can make a drama good or bad. I like the way its written, very natural. I believe what Im watching, I can believe this story to be just like it is, and that is very important. I give it five stars.

I was very pleased with the lead actors, Park Shi Hoo and Kim So Yeon were very good together and even when the drama had its moments where I thought things just seemed too over the top the actors managed to entertain me and the story was quite lovely in a refreshing way. A nice way to jump from one drama to the next if you have nothing to watch. I would definitely recommend this drama for those looking for a light romance story.

Not all that great, but it was okay to watch.

I love this drama. I couldn't stop watching it from the beginning. I had to get it from Netflix since the streaming videos were off... cool they have it here now. GREAT DRAMA!

Got bored around some episode which I can't remember. The drama is not bad, although I hate how Korean dramas are always so similar in these particular aspects; fashion (the leads always wear super trendy stuff... so unrealistic) female leads are so dummy in a cute clumsy way, but it gets boring you know? and how they always end up living together for some reason which does not make sense. I get tired of the same thing all over again.

I'm rating completely and entirely based on how much it entertains me and how fast my heart beats with each romantic scene. I don't care what anybody says about the male lead, he may not be the best actor out there, but he is not as horrible as others. The drama is very sweet.

I liked this drama. Its very cute and funny. Also, it might be because its just like my favorite movie, When Harry Met Sally. This is like the Korean version of the movie, the plot is the same although some things are changed. The male lead is simply adorable.

I like the drama because of its funny moments, and the issues that brings out, like single parenting, and also parents that are stars. Its hard for them to lead a life in which they have no privacy. Its sad how we (so-called fans) contribute to the messiness their lives turn into because of a scandal that can be a lie. They have it hard in that sense, Nice drama.

Not well done. However I still enjoyed it a lot, so Im basing my rating on that.

... cant say anything much about it. just that its kinda-not-that-good. But somthing to kill the time if you have a plenty.

I love Lee Byung-hun, but KTH was not the right actress for this role. Which is why I cant completely give IRIS five stars. I think its a good action drama but "Time Between Dog and Wolf" is still my favorite. Sorry Lee Byung-hun, you're still my favorite actor!!! :)

He was the only good thing here... although his acting wasnt all that, i think back to when i watched this drama and the only good that came out of it is Lee Jun Ki. of course, thats my opinion, dont hate me for it fans!!!!!! lol

This drama is just beautiful. I admit that I started watching the first episode once and didnt hold my interest at first, but I gave it a second chance because of Kim Rae-won and I have to say Im just heartbroken to have finish watching. I wish I could watch it for a longer time.... could there be a second part to this story????

I must say Im happy they have finally uploaded a drama with Lee Byung Hun. This one is not my favorite of him but its a good watch and I think everybody did a good job, of course there were a few things I didn't like, but overall its sure to captivate the hearst of all fans,

I liked both Iljimaes, because they are so very different in their context and main idea, even when both stories depict the same fictional character, and ultimately the same view on morals. Also, Lee Jun Ki is very good in this drama, I think that comedy comes very natural for him.

A good drama. At the beginning a little slow, but things build up quickly after the second episode. So Ji-sub is great in his acting, and I love the chemistry between him and the lead female. If you like revenge themes, then you will like this drama.

“When it’s at Night” is certainly not the best drama out there. It lacks in many ways. However, as a comedy, it didn’t let me down. I enjoyed it. It was easy to watch, the 17 episodes go by very quickly since there is not much to the plot, but at the same time, it doesn’t drag. Frankly, I watched it all because of the lead actors. I love Lee Dong Gun so much, I would watch anything with him. If you liked “Sweet 18” then, you are sure to like this one. I mean, in my opinion, it’s a better story for a comedy, and lets not forget that Kim Sun Ah will always make you laugh. She is that good.

I agree with manifestus.

I hate sad endings, even more when they offer me no hope. I say this in a very personal way, because I know other people liked the ending. Great acting, Im rooting for Kim Min Joon. He has become one of my favorites since I started watching "Friend, Our Legend" and have been fallowing his other dramas then. He is very good!

All I have to say is that this series is completely underrated. Yeah, it has its sad moments (some people said something about a box of Kleenex) I particularly don’t like melodramas, but this series is not like that entirely. The love scenes between the lead actors are soooo romantic, it takes your breath away. Definitely a must watch for those who are looking for a hot passionate romance story.

Its very good in general. There are sometimes when it gets boring. They can drag the parts when they are talking about the rules of dating a little too much, and it makes it tiring. The acting is not first class, but it isnt that bad either. It has lots of funny parts, and what I like the most is the fact that every character has its flaws and good sides too, so you dont have to hate or love anyone in paricular, but just enjoy every character for what they are.

Where have you been that I didn't know of your work? Ok here is the thing. While for me it was everything I had expected it to be, I can understand why it wasn’t for the common viewer. Most people are used to action dramas like “East Of Eden” or “Swallow the Sun” (love the latter. Never actually seen the first one) Dramas like that are more entertaining, yes. However, FOL has a film noir feel to it, which gives it more depth. It makes it into a more serious work, like if it were in a complete different level, a league of its own. And it is. While watching it, I’m reminded of films like “The Godfather” and “A Bittersweet Life” The acting is superb. Hyun Bin and Seo Do Young are very good, but they don’t impress me as much as Kim Min Joon. He is off… the… wall… WOW!

I dont know why... I love the Goong Yoo, and Sung Yuri is not bad. Nam Goong Min was very good. All in all, good casting, but the story is sort of boring.

I think the idea of an everyday life kind of style drama with a love triangle its not a bad idea but its very hard to convey without it being boring. I mean, "love triangle" all dramas have that. In love with her step-brother? Not a big deal. Give me something new and unusual. If he would have been her real brother (as in, the same blood) or better yet, and less creepy, half-brother, then, I would have been interested. I know it sounds creepy, but unconventional things (when done right... "Bad love" eww) are always interesting to watch and keeps the viewer entertain. Hence, the success of "Coffee Prince"

much better than Iljimae. I really love Lee Jun-ki's performance, but I think The Return of Iljimae has a better story, and I like the leading actress much better than the other girl in Iljimae. I think all the actors did a good job, but nothing outstanding. Its the story and how is told what really makes it much better.

I was worried for a while because Dramafever only had dramas that werent of my interest. But this drama, even though i have already seen it, is one hell of a funny comedy. I like it a lot. Is not your everyday love comedy. I mean, even when it has similarities to other comedies, this drama is very different in a lot of ways as well. Its not about baseball as in about the sport, but is about dating in you 30s and its compared to baseball. It really is a good, smart, comedy.

Here is what's going on. I prefer not to watch because of who the girl ends with (I will not say, because I don't think its fair to ruin it for other people) I had a hint of whom she would end with, and I decided to search for some spoilers and then… BANG! I was right, and I totally disagree with her choice, which has made me lose interest now. Hence, the four stars. Therefore, I prefer not to watch. However, even when I haven't seen all the episodes, I have to say that the drama is good. Great acting, the story seems like it would be a good one, and if you are a big fan of Nodame Cantabile then you will definitely like this one.

The first time I tried watching this series, I got bored while watching the first episode. Then I tried it a second time, and got distracted by something else… guess I got bored again. And the third time I managed to finished the first episode and I think I watched till the third one (not sure) but that’s it! Its not doing it for me. I get bored. Nothing against the lead actors, but the drama, although it has a good story (it was what got me interested in the first place) it seems like a repeated story of other dramas, all put together in one. I think the writers could have done a better job.

To those who dont like it because the main character is negative, let me tell you: THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE STORY. Even when is like that, this drama is super funny, entertaining, and very realistic. I mean, everybody here does what seems like what one would really do or not, depending on your own personality. Good watch.

WARNING THIS HAS SOME SPOILERS. I loved it!!! I started this drama because of the manga. And i have to say, i was shaken. I re-played the scene where they kiss on the street so many times, i still dream of it.

I know is a good drama, because i can tell by the story line, the characters, the script. But it just does not hold my interest. I mean, i tried so much to keep on watching it, but I got distracted by another drama. I think i might go back and try to finish it, but I dont know!!! My rating is not a complete 5 becuase it didnt do it for me this time around (perhaps later on) but it wont be fair to give it less than 4.

Soooooooo pretty they look like girls. In the anime is not quite like that. I loved the anime, i have seen it more than once, but the drama was so so... in my opinion. And I agree with "downcomevo" this drama is cheesy. I just finished watching it because I had given my rating based on 10 episodes only. But now I finally finished it. I had to take it little by litte, like when you eat bad food.

It was good, not the best drama ever, but it was funny and very cute. Something refreshing to watch if you are bored.

This drama made me laugh and cry and hate the lead male character. But I came to love him eventually. lol

This is a perfect comedy. Super funny, touching, and very very entertaining.

Didnt hold my interest. I still want to give it another try, but I just find it a bit boring.

Too much drama, wayyyy too much. Too many "complicated" issues that can be resolve easily. I think the drama doesnt hold any plot. Uyyy, people dont know how to take others opinions very well!!!! Should I say: "sorry, but I didnt like it"?

The actors in this drama each fit their characters so well, I think the production did a PERFECT job at casting. Whatever others might say about Lee Joon Ki (that he was exaggerating his acting) I have to say that he did an excellent job. In other dramas I might say that he does exaggerate, but not in this one. I love that there is romance but its not the main focus of the story. There was no time for mushy stuff. I loved, loved, loved TIME BETWEEN DOG AND WOLF. My number one favorite drama of all times.
