So in the beginning of this series, i first. felt pretty bad for the main character; his girl was marrying someone else and he was crying like a baby on a playground the entire time before this time travel guy offers him chances in exchange for baseballs so that he can right all his wrongs. It pretty interesting at first but after five episodes I was so ready to slap this guy and tell him to move the hell on. and image that this same, him going back in time over and over for sixteen episodes, it gets old...really fast. What saved the show some were the sub-plots with his friends that I wished they worked on a little more and gave more screen time, especially his friend who wanted to be a producer/director, that was an interesting plot that i wished went a little farther with. other than that it really wasn't that impressive. Loads of crying and lengthy monolouges and a lot of boring episode. I'm pretty disapponted.
I'm really glad that i watched this series. I almost gave up on watching Asian dramas after the huge disappointment with a series called Mary Me or something like that. This truely is a great and terrible story of love enduring the test of time. But what i liked the most about this series was the actors. Vanness Wu does a great job portraying a torn individual who finds love almost at the wrong time. He shows not only range in acting but also skin ;) (that was for the ladies). Characters like Mu Cheng and Tou Ye are just hard not to love, and as much as i wanted to be annoyed with the little kid Xiao Le, i thought he was damn cute. There are some instances where the misunderstandings and the characters not opening their mouths to clearthings up get annoying. I'm pretty verbal when i watch my dramas so i found myself yelling at the screen more often. But i digress, this was a great show, with great actors, and even better plots.
I last K-drama I watched I nearly stopped watching Asian dramas all together, but this really put me back in the swing of things. Wu Shang is a very strong, no-nonsense workaholic who forgets how to have fun after going through a very bad break up six years ago. Lucas is a very romantic, fun loving character that you can't help but want to take home to mommy. This is really is a good example of opposites attracting. The story has so many great elements of love, humor, drama, angst, misunderstandings, and all that good stuff. I can't stop watching it and really enjoyed the performances from all the characters. I can't really say that there is much I don't like about the show, there are some parts that do go on and on, but I still think its worth the watch. Great show!
