So far this has been one of the best melo's I've seen in a while. The acting is without fault, the storyline is heart wrenching without being forced or overdone and there has already been significant character development. I am always amazed by the depth of Yuh Jin Goo's acting despite his young age. 5 stars for now. Having said that I'm worried about this drama's final destination. I've seen more than one melo go downhill after the kids become adults. I'm hoping the flawless writing and acting will continue.
Just in case you wanted to know the degree to which it is acceptable to treat housewives like dirt in Korea there is this series. She takes it from her husband, her mother-in-law, her sister-in-law, work associates, her own mother, and other random people. As a woman the way she is treated personally offends me. I'm still flabbergasted that we're supposed to think they are both to blame for their divorce: he cheated and treated her like dirt and she . . . nagged him?! Seriously?! As for acting I can appreciate the actors going for something unique and different, but the comedy while funny at first really got cheap, wearisome and repetitive with time. I like that the story has gotten more serious but I'm downright sick of the two of them at this point. Honestly, I'd rather Yeo Ok be with someone that respects her. (Go Hyun Woo!) Also, Victoria, imo, is just downright selfish. She'll take what she wants and if she doesn't get it she has an "attack". Grow up.
I really want to like this drama. Unfortunately on principle I tend to despise dramas that focus heavily upon overbearing, nosy, calculating, and selfish in-laws/parents. I wish I could just delete Deul Ja right out of this drama. I don't really like how the daughter, Hae Yoon, is coldly calculating either. Also Sung Joon seems a bit stiff in his innocent guy role (Maybe it'll grow on me). Having said that I'm drawn in by Dong Bi's storyline as well as Hye Jin's. I'm hoping for some good character development, and less of the screaming in-laws. 3 stars for now just because I'm not sure what to rate it at yet.
