Kim HJ in an interview said he studied the character and watched the anime for his role. The anime character was really mean to the girl and never showed emotion. The Korean version you could see when the guy lead started liking the girl. In the Taiwan version it followed the anime more but Joe Chen character now he was really mean to the girl she cried and suffered a lot. But the actors play the roles how the directors tell them . All in all I loved all three dramas on their own merits.
