Reviews

I watched 9 of 16 episodes, so I gave it a fair chance but could not finish. I have never watched more than half of a series and called it quits. I tried to stick this one out because the positive reviews. I just kept waiting for it to get really good, but it never did. I don't think it's a bad drama, I just didn't find it very interesting or entertaining. It was pretty much 'crickets' all the way for me.

While I did empathize with Do Young, she was such a selfish, conniving wench that I couldn't wait to see her get her comeuppance. That written, Do Young is an interesting and complex character and Kim Ji Soo gave a great performance. For me, the best villains are not pure evil, but damaged people acting out of pain thus inflicting pain on others. The mother's treatment of Do Young was a contributing factor, but what Do Young did to that family and her attempts to cover it up at all costs are inexcusable. I admire the mother for never giving up hope of finding her daughter. The best (and most surprising) aspect of this drama was the love story that developed. I did not expect them to become a couple, but their romance was wonderful and very genuine. Ultimately, the morals of this story are everybody needs someone who loves them and the truth will set you free. This one is definitely worth watching. The ending was touching and made me cry. I have to find a comedy now!

What a wild ride! Lee Seo Jin and Im Joo Eun are superb as the leads, but there are a couple equally outstanding supporting roles as well. Kim Gab Soo as Baek Do Shik is far scarier than any ghost. The guy is truly unforgettable. I was also riveted by Park Gun Il as Jung Shi Woo. Who knew that his real claim to fame is as a member of some K-pop boy band called Supernova?!? Park Gun Il is a talented actor and VERY easy on the eyes. He's definitely found a new fan in me. : ) If you're looking for a change of pace from melodramas, rom-coms, and "Flowers", this is IT. Soul is eerie, thought-provoking, violent, heart-wrenching, never a dull moment, high quality entertainment and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I have never seen another K-drama of its kind.

I really enjoyed the drama. Lee Min Ho in particular is outstanding. I gave BBF 4 stars ONLY because I think they milked 25 episodes out of a story that could have satisfactorily ended in 21. Nevertheless, I highly recommend. I had never heard of Lee Min Ho prior to BBF, but his performance alone makes it worth your time. Forget the "he's so hot" stuff. This guy is an excellent actor with real charisma. I enjoyed the relationship between the all the Flower Boys, but especially between Min Ho and KHJ. Despite the strain of a love triangle, their friendship always remained strong, deep, and true.

Although Full House is very funny, I can't believe how much it made me cry. The emotions between Rain, the two women, and his family just rang so deep and true for me. What makes Rain such an incredible actor is his ability to make you feel. There are times when I wanted to kick his ass, but there are also moments that he broke my heart. Full House is one of the all-time great Korean dramas for a reason and it has stood the test of time. Please ignore any negative comments and enjoy.

Isn't it amazing how certain dramas are so addicting that you almost swear there's a needle in your arm? Protect The Boss, Queen of Housewives, and Me Too Flower were my most recent drugs of choice. I loved them all, but I've struggling to find drams I like as much ever since. I watched 9 episodes of Shut Up Flower Boy, KimChi Family, and dabbled with a few others. These dramas are ok, but finishing them almost feels like a chore. I had never heard of "He Who Can't Marry', but decided to give it shot since it recently became available and the reviews were so positive. Great move on my part because lo and behold... I HAVE FOUND MY NEW CRACK! This is a tremendously entertaining drama with GREAT performances, particularly by Ji Jin Hee. It takes real talent to make his character endearing and even sexy because the guy is deeply flawed. This drama is so well written and acted that I feel as if I know these people. Kudos to Drama Fever for saving the day for me with this gem.

This is the first time I've rated before the drama ends, but I'm baffled by the comments. I thought this was a comedy? Granted, I'm only 40 minutes into the first episode, but it's no laughing matter. The story line and acting are quite good so far, but where is the humor? It'll be interesting to see how this story develops into a comedy because it's DEEP at the moment! Starting with 4-stars which may change by the time the drama ends.

I've been watching k-dramas less than a year and one of the things I've learned thus far is that one person's trash is another person's treasure. Playful Kiss is a treasure to me. I got into k-drama because I am madly, passionately in love with RAIN. After seeing all of his wonderful dramas, I wanted to expand my horizons, so I watched Boys Over Flowers next and really enjoyed it! Lee Min Ho was amazing, but I was not particularly impressed with Kim Hyun Joong, I didn't know what to expect going into PK as the reviews are all over the place, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. The ENTIRE CAST is outstanding. The actress who plays KHJ's mom pretty much steals the show, but the girl who plays Oh Hi Na has real star quality. She's the most adorable thing ever and I can't wait to see her in another role! I thought KHJ did himself proud as well. PK was wonderful and has the most satisfying ending of any k-drama I've seen up to this point. LOVED THIS COUPLE! LOVED THIS DRAMA! : )

Ji Sung gives one of the best comedic performances in k-drama history. An excellent supporting cast and an original and hilarious spin on the love triangle makes this one a winner. Thoroughly enjoyed it! If you're tired of waiting, you can watch it on Viki like I did: http://www.viki.com/channels/4407-last-female-secretary

Me Too, Flower is the most underrated K-drama of 2011, but possibly the best. Any notion that Yoon Si Yoon is too young to play the leading man opposite Lee Ji Ah is quickly dispelled after episode 1. This guy can ACT and the casting of these two leads if perfect. Yoon Si Yoon is the most appealing leading man of all the dramas I've seen. If had to choose one character as my ideal man, it would definitely be Jai Hee. He's that good. Of course, no drama can be great without an exceptional supporting cast and this one is topnoth. The writing is excellent as well. Thumbs waaay up for me. Superb!

This drama and A Love To Kill are the greatest k-dramas of all time. No other dramas even come close to them.

Great story! Great acting! Sad ending, but beautiful as well. A Love To Kill set the standard in k-drama for me. I have seen and enjoyed several dramas since, but none have come splendor that is A Love To Kill. It is by far the best drama I've ever seen. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! UPDATE: I have seen many k-dramas since A Love To Kill, but none of them can match the sheer passion of this one. I have never been so emotionally invested in a drama before or since. I really felt as though I was watching people's lives rather than a work of fiction. That's why the ending hits you so hard. A Love To Kill is a masterpiece. IT'S ABSOLUTELY UNFORGETTABLE!

By far, the most cohesive, mature, entertaining drama I have yet to see. The 20 episodes just flew by! The casting, story line, and acting are all pitch perfect. I LOVED THIS DRAMA!

Two big thumbs up!
