I absolutely love this drama! Sure, it's unrealistic (it's a drama!) but is that a bad thing? Absolutely not. King 2 Hearts seems to be billed as a romance but it's so much more than that. The storyline sounds like Spy Myung Wol but the comparison is way off. The drama is more about Lee Jae Ha's struggles and his growth as the King of South Korea: It's about finding courage and trust. To sum up, it's more of a revenge/thriller drama. The pacing, storyline and character development is assured and the acting is well-done. Even the side characters are interesting and there's some plot twists, as well as some funny moments in this drama. I haven't been bored at all while watching. King 2 Hearts far exceeded my expectations-- it's that awesome.
This drama starts off promising but as it continued, it went downhill. Sloppy execution and rough time traveling transitions. I stopped watching halfway because the plot line was at a standstill and the story just wasn't moving forward. I am very disappointed with Operation Proposal.
I can say with confidence that History of a Salaryman is easily in the running for one of the best dramas of 2012. The direction, writing and acting was solid all across the board. This was a very good, well-paced and a high quality drama to watch. History of a Salaryman was also laugh out loud funny, in a dark humor, off-beat sort of way. My favorite funny scene was the body-wheelchair-elevator scene (if you watch this drama, you'll know what I'm talking about hahaha!) I was also pleasantly surprised at the character growth of Yoo Bang and Lee Bum Soo's wonderful portrayal of this character. Jung Ryeo Won did an outstanding and memorable performance as Yeo Chi. There's just so much fire and sass she puts into the character, you'll love her! I have nothing but praises for History of a Salaryman, and I'm sure you will too!
