love, love the main characters but cannot stand the queen dowager!!! (the mother of the king) i think this drama's rating could be so much better if they had a better supporting actors. still a great drama.

I thought this was going to be a movie but turned out to be documentary ... but it was one of the most interesting one I've seen in awhile. Maybe bc I'm Korean? I totally get how he felt towards his parents, and how he felt that he had to protect his last family ... sadly, and tragically, this one family member turned out to be psychotic. He was brainwashed from age 13 ... after they brutally murdered his mom for money, they brainwashed him then she decided to take out the boyfriend. At 19, I think most people would've done the same. Like one of his friends said, he needed someone to take the gun out of his hand and tell him to go back home. But sadly, there was only his sister, badgering him to carry out this revenge for his mom. Now, she wants nothing to do with him but he still loves her. Nothing comes to my mind except how sorry I feel for him and what a messed up life he had and will have for the rest of his life.

although it's set in goryeo dynasty, this is a pure fantasy drama. the story is entertaining but the they really messed up on the casting. the lead actress (the doctor) ... how can i say this nicely ... i loved her about 15+ years ago, but she's too old to be playing a love interest for lmh. there's absolutely no chemistry between the two ... and like someone said earlier, lee min ho is carrying the whole show on his shoulders. i think the plot is interesting, although there has been too many time traveling dramas this year. the king, just doesn't fit the role either. i understand not all kings were tall, handsome, and charismatic but this is tv ... fantasy ... edit: it is getting better ... the king is finally acting like a king. my rating has changed from 3 to 4. hope it just keeps on getting better.
