I'm getting tired of these anti American subplots ! Why don't the Koreans hate China and Japan - who've been their enemies and conquerors for hundreds of years. ALL we've done is fight and die for them on their bloody soil, time and again. It's sickening and they always make us out to be brutes. Take a long look at your frigging bloody history - nauseating to me. What a bunch of crap !

I laugh very much at the people in this delightfully fun and entertaining program. Can't wait to see all the episodes.

Between the wretched hairdo and the ex-wife with too much gone wrong plastic surgery - distracting. on the fence hoping it stops being boring. I just read a review that compared this to "Secret Garden" - ignorant blasphemy !

Actually becomes nicely complicated as it goes along.

A fascinating drama - she's at the top of the heap. Ji Won is superb in this.

very distracting plastic surgery I repeat way too much plastic surgery

I haven't even watched this but I'll say this : the woman who stars - gross - way too old looking - way too much plastic surgery. Everything I see her in is out of wack just because she's in it.

I skipped more episodes than I watched. waste of talent.

I always read the reviews first and these suck. KOREANS can be as obnoxious as any nationality on earth. Americans are not, as a whole, at all arrogant. Anybody that writes us that way, shame on them. The reason that the birthrate has dropped so low in Korea is just this obsession with themselves, intermarriage with other cultures is the only way to breathe life into a culture. Besides,, the U.S. always bails your ass out when you need it. And happy to do it. That's who we are as a people. Gullible, naive and generous, yes we have bad ones but it seems (judging by dramas ) that you have more. We love you though, that's who WE are. We are one race - HUMAN. True democracy takes a long time, true love for others just as long.

really entertaining and the leads and other actors are all great. The girl from the gross and stupid "Playful Kiss" really did have her whole face reconstructed - big improvement.

This is a magical tale with only one of the evil evil people that K dramas seem to have way too many of. There are issues but kimchi and love seem to magically heal everyone. The scenery is gorgeous and the acting superb. Song Il Kuk and Park Jin Hae are always two of my favorites. THE BEST since " Secret Garden !

Of course, the villainous Mishil was perfection and Uhm was awesome too. Kim Min Gook stole the show, he's a great actor - again in my opinion. Kim Nam Gil - always mesmerizing. I really don't understand why they let that girl take the lead in any dramas. She always seems as though she just died and forgot to lay down.

Also a complete waste of good actors. I defy anyone to be interested enough to finish this yucky story.

that's a bit unusual. I liked it very much, it just kind of ambled along, no really evil people ( which I detest ) There were ups and downs, but no high drama or really bad .characters. Except the little witch Goodson. And the spoiled brat bastard Amber, does no one ever correct anyone in this drama ?

The US sent 90% of the UN troops in 1948 to Korea, lost 37,000. wounded 100,000 plus, app.7500 died in POW camps. Meanwhile, we were fighting all over the globe. I've never yet heard of SK sending any troops anywhere to help anybody ever. SK has only been called a democracy for a very short span. get your facts straight. I love SK, it's people, it's dramas, art and literature, but SK has a siege mentality. It's a country that's been conquered over and over again, yet is seemingly very prejudiced against any westerners. That's how countries die, as Japan is. Lowest birth rate on the planet because of it's cultural prejudices. China gives away all of it's girl babies, who's going to marry the precious males ? I won't say racial prejudices because there's only one race and it's called human- and guess what ? we're all in it together.

for Jung Eun's rebuilt face - very distracting - she was pretty before she jacked herself up. I love Park Shin Yang, there's just something about his almost deadpan yet moving delivery. I watched Jung Eun in "I Am Legend" although I was very disappointed that she replaced the brilliant Kim Sun Ah.

The sister of the wealthy family - way too much bad plastic surgery - the mom always plays the same bitch part. It's old before it even begins.

Hee Jang sickening as usual. i keep skipping episodes so it can't be very good. crapola ending, very uneven. why give it a good rating just because pop stars are in it. I think you have to be 14 to like it.

she could have cleaned up a little earlier but I love both Ye Jin and Min Ho.

Of all the dramas I've ever seen, this was the most tearful so far.

I could always do without the evil people in these dramas, but still a good story.

interesting and attention keeping - not a given in historical dramas.

great acting, tight script, exciting and action packed. more of these please.

a good story - now if "Heartstrings" could have even come close.

BUT, if I'm going to watch a drama I like the loose ends tied up. The two teachers needed to have a real romance.

I got hooked on Shin Goo in "Thank You". I thought this a wonderful and satisfying family drama.

the father character way too far out.

I hardly had to skip any episodes.

which is rare in long winded - running out of steam, historical dramas. although nothing was as bad as Seu Duc- nothing.

i loved this one but it wasn't finished well, it just sort of ran out of steam.

very disappointing I love the actors but I thought this script beneath them.

Rain is a charismatic being and I love Shin Min. Excellent tale. it will be great when Hyun Bin and Rain will be making dramas again. They're just fun to watch.

It's truly an exquisite piece of work. Jung Woo is priceless and captivating in this drama. it's even driven the truly awful "Athena" out of my mind. Kim Bum is wonderful, the girl friend is excellent - and the Mom is a delight. I have a special needs family member, and the genius of Jung Woo's character is that he looks at life with that same naivete and innocence. He's just perfect in this. I wish there didn't always have to be the evil bad guys. It's old -that's the only part that detracts.

Anyway, it was an excellent and, almost always, riveting series. Well done.

I'm responding to the review just before me - I totally agree even before I watch it. I'm so sick of (usually women) who had bad plastic surgery. It's okay to get it BUT here's the kicker - it's not supposed to look like you did it. Before I watch one moment of this, I know just who you're talking about. It's one of the reasons I haven't watched it. This girl looks plastic, never mind the nose - how about the artificial lips. These people that they fill these roles with, actually detract from the drama, because they look so weird. Also I loathe Park Soo Jin. Ugh

Very disappointed. Just like every historical drama, this one too lost its drive and momentum. End tedious, boring and predictable. I can't blame the actors, it's the writers. not going to get sucked into one again.

way too over the top- asinine.

cute and sweet --although I do find Lee Ji Hah a bit disconcerting, and not in a good way. She's way too pouty in all of her roles and never really happy, the same as one of my very least fav Korean actress.

Always worth watching, the best Korean crime drama I've see.

lead actress -some one needs to take her out of my misery. She has been awful in everything I've seen her in. Whoever named that drama "The Great Queen So Duk" she's always depressing beyond even her character. I always believe that many actors portray how they see themselves and boy she needs therapy. This drama should never ever be compared to "Secret Garden", not even close in caliber.

Boring and disagreeable in every way

Fun and enjoyable

I'm re watching this drama and I notice that I just watch it always with a big smile pasted to my face. None of the stars have that innate sparkle that Hyun Bin, Ha Ji and "Oska" have. This is a happy time drama - third time watching it= same smile on my face- plus it's the best music ever ! Baek Young -exquisite.

lee yoon hae's character was one of the most annoying and sickening ones that i've seen in a kdrama. sickening because of the discomfort level of her relationship with gong woo. the relationship between song yuri and gong woo didn't strike me that way at all being that they were just children. but the one was really gross because she was raised to adult hood with gong woo.

but the bullying was really hard to bear.

the lead actor was one of the most annoying i've ever seen.

an excellent crime drama, something very rare in this genre.

this was one of the most well done dramas ever, to even compare the miserabe "coffee house' to it is an insult

excellent story, fine acting. grandpa was my boyo too.

excellent from beginning to end.

the most depressing drama i've ever seen, right up there with "say you love me."

Not worth the effort.

disjointed, asinine and a waste of time.

This drama used up all of it's credibility with lousy ending it served up. Lost whatever momentum it ever had and it was just a big draggy letdown. Major lame.

when are you viewers going to start judging by the content of a drama and stop giving good ratings because of a supposedly "hot guy"

were there actually any good or loyal human beings in korean history ? or has power always been all that mattered ?

But Da Hee should never wear her hair down - she looks awful.

This drama should be engrossing but it's not. It has two wonderful stars and lots of good supporting cast, it's just boring. CAN SHE JUST GET OUT OF THOSE CLOTHES !

this should be a 5* rating for real. highly engrossing, moving and fulfilling.

Most boring, most predictable - I really can't understand why it ever got such high ratings.

I really can't understand why this has a four star rating, the girl who played the lead in this was just the worst ever. And if people gave it that rating just because of Kim Joong then that's just wrong. I like him to mostly because of "Boys" but this was just plain stupid and on an annoyance scale it's definitely a 10.

This is one of the dumbest dramas I've ever seen - second only to the truly awful "Playful Kiss". I like Daniel Choi but he really has to play some more dignified and manly roles. The girl should never have been cast in this role, just a really boring dumb ass waste of film.

Why does there always have to be the lying skanky bitch, always so underhanded and vengeful ? It ruins it for me, I'm just not happy when people are vicious. So I keep skipping. Why do viewers enjoy that ?

Come on, be truthful. This is an extremely mediocre drama. It's annoying that the reviewers are so focused on the so called sex appeal of the males that they forget that they're supposed to actually act.

Kim Tae Hee and Song Seung Hun are just adorable together - a sweet and mostly enjoyable movie. I wanted the witch to get much more punishment tho'.

Kim sun Ah is THE QUEEN OF ROMANTIC COMEDY - period. no one even comes close . And Hyun Bin is an angel and perhaps THE KING OF ROMANTIC COMEDY. Together they have some of the best acting chops in whole world not just Korea.

Kim Hyun Joo and the lead KIm Suk Hoon give this a good rating. I object to Yoo Ri because she's always the same. By the way, I'm not detesting Yoo Ri on her natural looks, I'm criticizing her on her plastic surgery -gone- too- far looks. I can handle the requisite evil guy or girl but , to me, Yoo Ri makes this drama so unpleasant- uncomfortable to look at her,

I tried to watch "All In" and thought it stunk big time, except for the lead- who's great as he was in "Iris"- the dramas are not in the same league. "Swallow" is a class act from beginning to end any one who tries to see any similarities in them is way off base, of course in my opinion. As to the gazing at the ocean, if one has ever lived on the sea that is exactly what one does -constantly. It imparts a balance as only Nature can.

This man, Hoon Da Yoon, is absolutely adorable and hilarious. At first the drama seemed too silly but he makes it comically endearing. I've never seen him before ( Yoon) but he's hysterical.. BUT do 20, 30, and 40 year old's in Korea really let their families control their lives the way it is in these dramas ? It's maddening. They never stand up for themselves, I get really annoyed just seeing it. BY the way, does the woman who plays Na-Young's mother ever play a nice person

but I really enjoyed it all of the way through. left me with more questions than answers.

I would not have guessed it but they are perfection together, so funny and great chemistry.

I'm an American and I loathed " Sex and The City" and this seems just as bad right down to the obnoxious unnecessary and distasteful fake sex scenes. Promiscuity is not amusing on screen and if this is what tvn pushes out - well yuk. One of the best things about Kdramas is the innocence.

I actually didn't skip any episodes - which is a rarity lately. I would have liked it better if Ko ended up with Ms. Hong. But I thought it was entertaining and interesting. Excellent characters and great acting. Compared to something like "Manny" it deserves even more stars.

I love Suk from other dramas, and the kids and the Mom but a mistake to add the Janice fool and the whole model sidebar. It weakens what might have become a fairly decent romantic comedy and turns it into a boring silly farce.

I thought his was the best of all the historical epics. King Yuri was awesome, all of the actors were awesome. Song Il Kuk great as was Choi Jung Won, it was long enough to tell the story but didn't drag it out like Sundeuk. The actors also suited the roles unlike the girl who played Sundeuk, Excellent.

I mostly enjoyed this drama, however, agree wth another poster about Kim So Yuen she's played the same limp wristed, and way overly self effacing, insecure character that she played poorly in "Prosecutor Princess" She's too strong looking to be playing such wishy washy parts. "Iris" was very compelling in many ways, one of them because of her role. I love Woon too, he's a pleasure to look at and he's a good actor. To me though, the whole thing started dragging out at about episode 11. Uhm Te Won always a pleasure. And yes the Ep 11 subbing issues were very annoying.

To me this drama is the biggest waste of time and money of the many I've see. Period. The only people who liked this tolerated it because of 7, but he's so lifeless perhaps if he had been given a decent script ?

I don't know why Kdamas feel the need to always try to make America the bad guy, there are more than enough evil Koreans in this one - and yet they still want America to look bad. Who saves the Korean bacon from the Korean War til the present. It's not a contest.

My first comment is that I detest Cha Ye Ryun and I wasn't even going to watch this because of her. My next post is this question : why would anyone say that In Sook is a monster ? I would have done exactly as she did given the same bizarre circumstances. The JK family is the Monster and needs to be destroyed. This drama keeps me on the edge of seat - excellent. I just read someone's review that they want Hyun Jin to win - she's the Monster in JK also.

I'd really like to know how this drama is higher rated than say "Paradise Island" because it just stinks big time.

nothing like "mama mia" but much like the big chill" really lousy volume control or non control

What ruins these dramas for me is the obnoxious behavior of the parents, this mother made me skip many episodes of "Smile,You" also. What is it in Korean society that gives these parents the right to tell their grown kids what to do ? It's a real downside to me in almost every drama. The possessiveness is gross and creepy - this woman ( the mother) is annoying looking anyway and every time I see her I know exactly how her character will behave. Is this really how it is in Korean society ? It seems like no matter how disgusting the actions of the parents, it's acceptable because their the parents. It's really sick,. I gave this the wrong stars, it should only be two and I really can't understand why it's so highly rated. But then again, I despise sitcoms and this one is as crappy a one as I've eve TRIED to watch

In my opinion this is the best of these so far - the first one obnoxious, the second one so low key as to have no key !

to me, this collaboration has been a great big boring dud- the first one was awful, the second not much better. This was stylish and sophisticated, well scripted and acted.

I'm so sick of the dramas with such evil conniving people that this is a welcome reprieve from those extremes. It was very well acted and written, smooth and satisfying.and I didn't have to skip any ugly episodes due to such unpalatable parents and other characters. It was beautifully filmed, very enjoyable.

Imagine life if we all had such an incredible family ?

I thought this was a very disturbing drama, actually with no redeeming qualities.

This drama is designated a romantic comedy and as such it's very enjoyable. Sweet, not tragic and very enjoyable as light hearted fare. But, the script needed to lighten up on the lead actress, the hair way too disgusting, the eating habits revolting, the wardrobe wretched. She's an actress who's adorable but making her sloppy and so overly humble is unnecessary. In spite of the hair etc it's just a fun drama. I am giving it 5 stars because it truly is a romantic comedy unlike some of the tragic stories labeled "light hearted and endearing" that are so depressing.

really disappointing.

I hate to write a negative review but seriously think this the worst drama, in my opinion, since the truly awful " Insoon Is Pretty" I'm pretty forgiving but this was a real drag even though it had wonderful talent - it was just so boring and shallow.

Very nail biting , Park is always great but I think the drama would have been much better served if the young female examiner was played by a less annoying and whiny actress. If she says the word doctor again I'll want to scream.

Why wouldn't the South Korean president go to Afghanistan, why would it be America's fault ? Who actually helps SKorea when the chips are down ? U.S. of A always !

This drama has it all, it's just (again) plain fun.

I enjoyed "Iris" greatly, but the storyline and the lead actor's role in this is really lacking. It's just not at all plausible that this guy can be that stupid as to risk his countries security for his own personal reasons, it just doesn't hang together. First the love affair and then he decodes a secret written by the top nuclear researcher and leaves it on a double agents' computer- his stupidly just goes on and on. Please just give me a break. "Iris" was taut and tight, the leads were superb and this is just over hyped and poorly written. Too bad because I love spy thrillers and I am fascinated by the ones that portray the awful daily threats and horrors that the South Koreans suffer to keep the Chinese puppet, North Korea, from blowing up Asia. Down with Chinese imperialism and down in flames to the North Korean regime.

Are there any Korean born people who read these notes ? Taking a cross section of these dramas are all Korean mothers so totally out of their minds with possessiveness and forcing their pathetic robot like children to do what they ( the mothers ) want ? I've never watched American soap operas, is this a soap ? As a women and a mother, I really don't get their obnoxious behavior, and then they pretend it's for their kid. Is this truly what the society is about, that "children" right up to death are just treated like possessions and that any sort of malicious violence is forgiven because they're the parents ? These parents exhibit true anti social even psychotic behavior. I keep watching and hoping that this is fantasy with no basis in reality.

Why did they ever pick Dennis Oh as a lead ? he can't act at all the, actor who played Kang would have made a better love interest. very quiet drama.

the only problems that i have with this is the person cha ye ryun, she is sort of nauseating in every role i've seen her in, there are several female drama actors whom i won't even watch because they've made the mistake of playing either mean or overly possessive gross parts. This girl i will go out my way not to see again. the story line is strong without that repetitive useless ex girl friend mean and pathetic. i also need to say this ; why do actors in kdramas think that because they like someone it gives them the right to interfere so obnoxiously in their obsessions private lives, why are there no boundaries as in respecting others. this in an excellent drama due to the leads and secondary actors to me this girl ruins the whole plot. also why does anyone owe that mother anything, maybe americans are too independent and assess others by their behavior not supposedly god given rights as parents but you earn respect and love, it's a privilege not a right.

the lead actress is funny but her over botoxed lips are distracting, why do beautiful women do this to themselves ? hopefully i'll be able to overlook it and enjoy the story. as ever tho' thank you dramafever for the great choices.

in my opinion, the female lead and her uncharismatic basic demeanor drag this drama and Hyun Bin way down. He is always delightful to watch, not just because of his looks but because there's just that something extra that shines through. This girl is pretty but there's nothing good radiating through her character from her personality. If the casting was different this could have been great- it has a good story, adult thoughtful dialogue but even the magical Hyun Bin can't make this girl even basically likeable .

Before you get down on the Bae try and see " How To Meet the Perfect Neighbor" she's pretty unique and would you not fight for someone you love ? Give her a chance, it takes a while but you might love her.

enjoyable but it's very hard to realize that family can still possess their progeny in such a negative way. the family prattles on and on and ON about that everything they do is for children, but it isn't ever. It's always and only about their own ambitions clothed in a terrifying soul killing strangle hold - parents don't get away with this in the world anymore. Each individual has the right and privilege to choose their own life story, to try and succeed or fail on their own- that's what democracy means. But I love Kdramas and they illustrate the beauty and struggle and social evolution of a people that I dearly love. I'm not sure who reads these but my heart hurts for your ongoing, troubled and painful relationship with your sister nation who walks such a dark path. Fighting !!!! The good people of the world are on your side South Korea. Every missile fired is like 911 to me.

Kim Sun Ah, in my opinion, is the very best that Korea has to offer. She is and has been my favorite actor in the world, she certainly wins out over every American and European ( again in my opinion. Costar and supporting cast all awesome, storyline dramatically and sociologically relevant. This is my second time watching the whole drama and I actually loved it even more. Pleas e DramaFever though make it easier to rewatch drama series on your site.

I skipped most of the episodes and the ending was pretty lame.

Very satisfying and well done, I've never been a fan of Kim Jung Eun before but she showed great range and just plain talent. I was very disappointed when Kim Sun Ah withdrew from this series but not anymore. I just hope Jung Eun doesn't go back to those prior roles which, in my opinion, did her acting ability no justice. Yes, the ending could have been what we all wanted but overall- excellent. Thank you and keep them coming.

I love this drama series, it seems unique in that there is a murky and murderous subplot - and yet the creators have still managed a light and sweet tone. I was irritated when "Secret Garden" didn't appear but I'm sure it's not from Dramafever's lack of trying. Seriously, who doesn't love to watch Hyun Bin ? It's not easy to find his or Kim Sun Ah's work. BUT, the stars in How To Meet...are beguiling, I loved the "deposed" for his work in "Iris"" and Bae is just the kind of quirky adorable actress that I get a kick out of/

I enjoyed this drama very much, even though I'm not very fond of medical series either. Well done all around. Extremely well done regarding moral and medical issues doctors and nurses must face.
