Just finished this and I have to say it's a great drama to watch, all 77 episodes. Without going in too deep with the plot, the 2 leads were amazing. The "love" connection will get the female fans tears going. Don't forget to put up the "Caution: Wet Floor" hazard sign post after each episode ladies. A King with martial arts was a good spin, considering he had assassins coming at him all the time. While the drama was good entertainment, Yi San made me very envious of him, .....some dude was always announcing him before he entered. So, I've decided to draw up plans for a motion detected "invisible" guy to announce my presence when ever I go to a different room in my house.
This was an OK drama. I loved the young actors/actresses, they hook me into this drama. Early in the drama, the story is driven with powerful young leads, I mean they were superb. Yeon Woo uses her talents to achieve some goals. You can't help but relate to other strong female characters, ala Dong Yi and Jewel in the Palace. The similarities end as the grown up Yeon Woo does not display any significant progress to her character. I mean all she does is hide behind the King's robe throughout the later episodes. As for the King, the young Lee Hwon is a love sick boy. Fast forward to the older Lee Hwon and he, like all typical Joseon Kings, is yelling at the ministers, but take no real action. There was nothing great about the King's character. Overall a decent drama, worth watching for the story. But if you're like me and want strong female leads that can overcome Palace plots and intrigue, click on Jewel in the Palace and Dong Yi to get your fix.
