Kimchi Family is sweet without being cloying, bitter without being cynical, spicy enough to be interesting over the course of 24 hour-plus episodes. Minor characters who start out as comic relief turn into major focal points that bring home the central point of the drama: Life is tough, but bearable when you have someone beside you. Fair warning: The last three episodes are a total hanky fest.
