I think you just have to be in the mood for slapstick, and I am in the mood because I just laugh along. Its sort of like a Chinese Mel Brooks flick. A shallow but good natured young man who is mostly a gamer, gets sucked into a time warp and lands in the Three Kingdoms. And guess what? - he can still text his sister, who amazingly immediately understands in ten words what happened and gets a solution! Meanwhile roaming around he befriends extraordinary people in Chinese history and gives them advice. Got it? Well, its a load of laughs if you are in a silly mood and can giggle when he tries to comfort an old world maiden that she shouldn't feel bad if she isn't a virgin because young women are naturally curious and want to experiment. :-D
Really like Mickey (PYC) in this drama. He looks so relaxed, rested and good shape. When i saw him in SKK Scandal, he was exhausted working another gig, and he was losing weight, and looked stressed. SSK is doing pretty good, (she will never be a great actress, but this is a part she can fudge by pretty well). The plot is very thin and very predictable (I guess because it was a comic book) but still, it is quite engaging. The actors are doing a great job, and I like it. The only part I find excessive is the death of little sister, and they keep showing that horrific scene over and over........I wish they could have avoided that somehow or did not show this over and over, that is too manipulative. As of episode 8, It continues to be a bit too violent for shock value, for my taste, but has its charms. Ultimately got bored, and stopped watching after episode 11. Then just checked back in to see the ending.
Very addictive. I could not hold out and watched the full series on youtube (all english subbed). I would have liked to see more about her life with wolves and her life with her adopted father. I am also left with some questions about the ending. I would like to read the novel if it is ever translated into english.
