This is an original drama and so different then any other k-drama that I was completely blown away. There are elements of this drama that everyone can identify with from family and school to first love and how important music is in our lives especially as young teenagers. It's so nice to remember how carefree we were and how immortal you feel before we eventually surrender to adulthood and responsibility. I was impressed with Jung Eun Ji in her lead acting debut. Her character was strong and dynamic and she is a collage of every girl I secretly admired in my life. Seo In Guk as the male lead is perfectly cast opposite Eun Ji. He has transformed into an actor I look forward to seeing well into the future. The entire cast was perfect and the writing was brilliant and this was by far the easiest 16 episodes I have ever watched in a K-drama. There was a never a dull moment from beginning to end. CLASSIC!
This drama is based on the manga I read sometime ago which was a little heavy on the fan service because of the theme so I really didn't know where this drama would go in it's adaptation. Close relationships between a teacher and student is such a taboo and if this drama followed the manga it could have easily been filled with toilet humor but instead the writers were able to make this work into a sweet coming of age story. There is something about Park Min Young that I find mesmerizing and ever more so in this drama. Yang Dong Geun as Jang Yi San "teach" plays the fumbling awkward teacher who has the task of seeing Eun Byul graduate through High School or else feel the wrath of her mobster boss father who hired him. The high school relationships and story lines are interesting as well. I do have a lot of sympathy of Yi San's GF who desperately loves Yi San and wants to marry him but life at times can be difficult and filled with friendly fire. I can't say enough about how poignantly sweet this is.
Well i haven't read the manga or seen any other adaptation so I have nothing to compare this too other then the merits of the superb casting and acting so far. I find the characters charming and very likable. It's hilarious so far especially the interactions between Eun Gyul and Jae Hee and I can't wait until each new episode! I will edit my review at the conclusion of this drama.
