Just finished episode 20 in the fetal position drowning in a pool of my own tears. If you have the good fortune to be watching this drama, you will be so glad you did. The story was cohesive and there were no loose ends at all. The themes of love and loss and revenge and redemption were well thought out and the cast truly went all out to deliver the story. This was a couple that really made you believe their love story to the end. And the supporting cast was an allstar group. Watch and fall in love.
I did not have high expectations for this drama at first because I am always a little leary of singer/actors. But this is outstanding. The themes of competition, True friendship and defining success made this a must see series. The storyline with Song Sam Dong just broke my heart and I appreciate the treatment of the Baek Hae storyline even if it did seem unfair. And lastly, what a soundtrack. IU has an amazing voice and I wanted to buy every song used in the series. I really have to give it the cast, they were great and I really enjoyed this series.
Okay, I will it admit that the ending let much to be desired, but this is a can't miss series simply for Gong Yoo. He is probably one of the best rom-com actors of all time. He gives you so much depth in his portrayal of both KKJ and Yoon Jae. And can we all agree that he is the best on-screen kisser out there. His eyes are what really sell this series. He gives you joy, heartbreak, and despair without saying a word. If you want a happy ending, stop at the end of episode 14, but if you want to see a star performance, give the whole show a chance but don't count on a satisfying ending.
