Great drama! It's like a mash-up of a few American cop dramas like Criminal Minds, Law and Order and CSI with romance thrown in for good measure. The 2 leads were great I love when the male lead in a drama is more optimistic/ happy-go-lucky than the female lead. Overall the acting was great but I didn't understand why they were only dating for a month or so and she proposes to him I think the romance part was rushed and could use a second season to see how their relationship develop more. I like to see where the relationship between Detective Sung Shik and the female Officer Yeo goes. I also noticed that Young Do and In Hee hung out a lot maybe they can get a love line too.
I kind of wished that the writers for Pretty Man would of had a story line like this one. A guy with nothing to lose reaching the top with hard work and help from a wise been there/done that person, finding true love and proving to the world that money does not have power unless you give it power. However no matter how good I found this drama I am upset with the ending. Its a very strong and intriguing drama but I had to stop after episode 16 (the final round) I started to watch 17 but I noticed where it was going and decided not to continue in hopes of not ruining a good thing. I think the ending (ep.16) was rushed and frankly I'm pissed off that it had to end that way because now I am curious as to what happened to the 2 male leads. However I am a sucker for dramas with a great cast a good story line and old cellphones. For me there was no "eye candy" so I had to focus on the acting and they deliver!
I was a simple/cute drama. It is however very predictable. Not only did I know what was going to happen but I also knew what they were going to say next most of the time. It similar to other contract marriage type of dramas except he was a Prime Minister and she was a tabloid reporter. It you have time you can watch it I stopped several times before I could complete the series. Everything is cliche especially the ending. I also think that the lead actors Lee Bum Soo and Yoon Shi Yoon were too good for this drama. Everything they said had a serious and dramatic tone to it I would love to see them act together in a cop thriller drama or in a historical drama.
