Biography
Uhm Jung Hwa, born in 1969, has become one of the most famous Korean female celebrities. She now is known throughout the world and is considered the role model for countless young women.
She first started out as a MBC choir member, and then moved on to Marriage Story in 1992, which was her film debut. She also pursued her music career simultaneously, and her first album Sorrowful Secret was produced in 1992.
In the year 2000, she focused more on her acting career, but never gave up on her music. She dabbled in different styles and produced electronica works. She produced a double album called Self Control in 2004 that included songs on it by Jung Jae Hyung, Fractal and Roller Coaster. Then, after a two-year break from the music industry, she produced Prestige, her ninth album.
She also starred in film after film. Popular titles she is remembered for include Marriage is a Crazy Thing, Singles, Princess Aurora, Dancing Queen, and Haeundae. In 2012, she developed thyroid cancer, which changed her focus again. However, she presses on in the hopes to help others in the process.
