Biography

Uhm Tae Woong is a Korean Actor who was born on April 5th, 1975 in Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. His early childhood was somewhat tragic. His father died in a motorcycle accident before he was born. His large family, which consisted of Tae Woong, his mother, three older sisters, struggled to make ends meet. To help financially, his sister Jung Hwa became a pop Singer at a young age. Her singing, acting career may have inspired him to become an Actor as well.

He began acting in college when he enrolled in the theater department. After college, he began acting seriously, took small roles in a variety of movies, television series. His talents were not really noticed, however, until 2004, when he made an appearance in an episode of the television show Blue Skies of Jeju Island. Critics took note of his acting abilities,, he began to develop a fan following.

He soon had strong roles in many different movies, television series, including Devil, Resurrection, Chaw, Delightful Girl Choon-hyang. He has also helped to create many tracks on musical compilation albums for various shows he’s acted on. In addition, in 2011, he joined the cast of the variety show 1 Night 2 Days to show another side of his personality.
