Biography

Imanol Arias is a Spaniard actor born in Riaño on April 26th, 1956. He enrolled in the Escuela de Armería to do his masters in Industrial Electronics but soon dropped out to concentrate in acting. Imanol Arias soon moved to Madrid and entered in the Centro Dramático Nacional which helped him make his debut in cinema with the movie La Corea. Later on he traveled to Cuba to play his first role as protagonist for the movie Cecilia.

Imanol Arias became very popular when he acted in the series Anillos de oro and in the movie Demonios en el jardín. In 1987 he participated in the film El Lute which he got awarded the Concha de Plata for best actor in the Festival de Cine de San Sebastián. Throughout the 1990s he participated in numerous movies and television shows. In 2003 Imanol Arias received the Premio Málaga from the Festival de Cine Español de Málaga in recognition to his long acting career.
