Biography

Tatiana Astengo was born in Lima on the 7th of June, 1967. Astengo worked as a print and television journalist, working as editor of the showbiz section of magazine Telecolor. Astengo began her career as a dancer in 1985, and by the late 80s she was a part of humoristic and musical shows. In 1994 she participated in Lluvias de Arena. She subsequently participated in various soap operas such as Tribus de la calle, Escándalo, Torbellino, and Luciana y Nicolás. Tatiana Astengo made her film debut in 1999 in Francisco Lombardi’s Pantaleón y las visitadoras, a performance that cemented her as a reputable actress. In 2000 she starred in an episode of the Chilean television series La vida es una lotería.

Since 2005, while in Spain, she participated in TV shows such as El comisario, and Hospital central. In 2009 she starred in Javier Fuentes-León’s Conracorriente which was nominated for the Goya Award for Best Hispanic American Film. In 2011 she participated in TVE’s Los misterios de Laura. Tatiana Astengo returned to Peru in the middle of that year and joined the cast of Al fondo hay sitio. In 2012, and parallel to her participation in the fourth season of Al fondo hay sitio, Astengo performed in the theatrical children’s musical Hadas.
