Chen Bo Zheng, also known as A Xi, is a Taiwanese actor born in Taipei, Taiwan. As a child, he was misdiagnosed and treated incorrectly causing him to be hard at hearing in both ears. The hearing problem did not deter him from becoming an actor. After graduating with a drama degree from college, he started to appear on TV shows as a host in 1981.

He rose to fame with his outstanding performance in the movie, The Sandwich Man (1983), directed by new-wave director, Hou Hsiao-Hsien, and he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Horse Awards. After a few more movies, he finally won the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in Super Citizen (1985).

Chen has had a long and illustrious career with leading and supporting roles in many TV dramas as well as films. He generally portrays characters living among lower social-economic levels. Notable dramas in recent years include It Started with a Kiss (2005), Wayward Kenting (2007), My Queen (2009), P.S. Man (2010), Love Forward (2012), K Song Love (2013), as well as the best-selling movie, David Loman (2013).

In his personal life, he is devoted to studying Buddhist scriptures and often counsels friends and other actors to stay positive in life. He has two daughters one of which is the actress Ikeya Chen.
