Biography

Kate del Castillo is a Mexican actress born in Mexico City on October 23rd, 1972. She is the daughter of Eric del Castillo, a legend in the golden age of the Mexican cinema and telenovelas. Her siblings are the host Verónica del Castillo and a half brother from her father.

Kate del Castillo participated in 10 telenovelas and debuted in 1980 with the movie El Último Escape. In 1991, she became well known when she starred the telenovela Muchachitas, where she played Leticia. Later on in 1996, Karen participated in Ricky Martin’s music video for the song Fuego de Noche Nieve de Día and then in 2002, she started an international tour along with the Argentinean actor Saúl Lisazo.

In 2007, People Magazine named her one of the Estrellas del Año. Then in 2011, she interpreted Teresa Mendoza in the telenovela La Reina del Sur. Her most recent work has been in Amores Verdaderos.
