Shopping King Louis (쇼핑왕 루이)

Starring and

Seo In Guk (Answer Me 1997, High School King of Savvy) and Nam Ji Hyun (Angel Eyes, Queen Seon Duk) star in a romantic comedy that proves that the only wealth worth keeping is the companionship of the one you love. Kang Ji Sung (Seo In Guk) lost his parents in a tragic accident when he was younger. He grew up with unlimited access to his grandmother’s conglomerate empire, and spent his life in France as “Louis,” spending money to fill the void in his life. However, when returning to Seoul one day, Louis gets in an accident and loses his memory, now possessing no knowledge of who he is or where he is from. He meets Bok Shil (Nam Ji Hyun), a kind and energetic woman with both the grace and heart of an angel. She has lived a life very different from the one Kang Ji Sung lived, and is in the city from her rural background to try and make something of herself. She doesn’t know about Louis’ wealth and tries to teach the young heir that there is one thing he cannot buy: true love. However, even when Louis had his memory, he had become used to filling his emptiness with objects. And now, neither of them even know who he is, let alone where he belongs. Can a sweet, yet naive girl help the amnesiac king return to his throne with some valuable life lessons in tow, or should this royalty forget about his empire?
Adding to the drama are Cha Joong Won (Ms. Temper & Nam Jung Gi star and Secret Garden scene-stealer Yoon Sang Hyun), a department director for Louis’ grandmother who sees the young heir as a threat but also falls for Bok Shil, and Baek Ma Ri (Heartstrings and Two Weeks actress Im Se Mi), Louis’ fiance whose love for him is more than a little one-sided.

Also known as “Shopaholic Louis,” Shopping King Louis is directed by Lee Sang Yeob (Mr. Baek, Lights and Shadows) and written by Oh Ji Young. The first script reading for the series took place on July 15, 2016 at the MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea, with filming beginning three days later and the drama debuting on MBC on September 21, 2016.
