Andante (안단테)

Starring and

EXO’s Kai (Choco Bank) and Lee Ye Hyun (Master: God of Noodles) star in a comedy about finding the true meaning of life, even if it happens just a bit slowly. When an antisocial computer nerd finds himself at a new high school in the countryside, he realizes that there is a whole world outside of his computer screen.

Lee Shi Kyun (Kai) is a high school student. Antisocial to his core, he hates the company of others. He also gets easily annoyed with his younger sister Lee Shi Young (Lee Ye Hyun), a cosplay otaku who always seems ready to pick a fight. The only thing Lee Shi Kyun rocks at is computers, and he is something of a legend at his local PC Room.

Then comes the ultimate crisis. Lee Shi Kyun suddenly has to move to the countryside. There, his computer prowess is useless. There, for the first time, he actually has to interact with people. There, for the first time, he actually has to survive being in a very, very strange high school.

Lee Shi Kyung hates interacting with difficult people. And for someone in a new place, every single person is difficult. There are two people Lee Shi Kyung seems to run into everywhere. The first is Park Ga Ram (Back Chul Min from Kill Me, Heal Me) an elite student with a warm temperament and dreams of becoming a doctor. The second is Kim Bon (debutante Kim Jin Kyung), a student who somehow manages to look super cool and be super shy at the same time.

For a man who plays computer games all day, socializing with just these two is a boss fight that is tough enough. Dealing with all the other high school bosses is even tougher. Whether it’s the rebel who simply decides he has to hate the new guy, the unbelievably talkative school gossip, the bashful class president, or the listless girl with no ambition, Lee Shi Kyung is at his wit’s end.

It’s a disastrous social mix, and Lee Shi Kyung is the last person who knows how to deal with it all. Unlike the computers he is an expert at, he will be a little slow in picking things up. But in the age of fast-paced living, will our hero’s andante be just too slow of a tempo?

Andante is a comedy directed by Park Ki Ho (Advertising Genius, Lee Tae Baek) and written by Park Sun Ja and Kwan Ki Kyung (the team behind the classic Sharp). Jung Da Bin (My Sassy Girl, Rebel: Thief of the People) was originally cast as the lead’s younger sister, but the role ultimately went to Lee Ye Hun.
