Huang Xiao Ming is a Chinese actor, singer, and model. As a child, he wanted to become a scientist but his teacher encouraged him to try acting. After graduating from the Beijing Film Academy, he rose to fame with his first leading role as Emperor Wu in the popular TV drama series, The Prince of Han Dynasty (2001). The drama was composed of three parts totaling 129 episodes and Huang became an overnight success.

His career continued its upward trajectory with leading roles in many popular dramas and films. He is often referred to as ""China's Number One Heartthrob."" Some of the most iconic dramas are: Condor Hero (2005), Shanghai Bund (2006), Royal Tramp (2006), Summer's Desire (2010) and The Patriot Yue Fei (2013). He has been equally prolific in the film scene with movies such as The Sniper (2009), The Message (2009), Sacrifice (2010), and The Guillotines (2012).

He has won many awards for his stellar performance and popularity. Huang is also well known and respected for his participation in charity work. In 2008, he adopted twin pandas, Ping Ping and An An, the first panda cubs born after the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. In 2009, he was appointed as a UNICEF Ambassador to promote charity events. He also participated in fundraising immediately after the April 2013 earthquake in Sichuan.
