Chinese restaurant lets attractive people eat for free
A restaurant in Zhengzhou, China is rewarding people for their good looks by offering a "Pay by Face" promotion. The controversial deal works by customers scanning their face on a touchscreen, which is then sent to a team of specialists.
The specialists, which are made up of employees from a plastic surgery office, then offer grades on the person's appearance. The judges must follow a specific scoring rubric, and the people who finish with the top five highest scores in 30 minutes get to eat for free.
The way that people are graded is displayed in the restaurant, adding even more controversy to the mix. It would be beneficial to society if the restaurant just gave away free meals to nice customers, but this is certainly one way to get attention.
Do you think it's a harmful promotion, or would you ever try and take the test to see if you can eat for free?
