Thrilling new drama Medical Examiner Dr. Qin, starring Zhang Ruo Yun, Jiao Jun Yan, and Li Xian is sure to surprise viewers with its stunning visuals and gripping mysteries. But did you know the real Dr. Qin thinks the actor who plays him is too handsome? Find out more about these interesting reasons to watch the new drama.

Medical Examiner Dr. Qin has been a hit drama in China. There are a number of reasons why it is so popular.

1. The drama is adapted from Chinese forensic expert Dr. Qin Ming's popular book, "11th Finger," which is based on his real-life experiences.

2. The eccentric Dr. Qin is played by Zhang Ruo Yun, one of the handsome up-and-coming actors from the popular period drama, Wu Xin: The Monster Killer.

3. The real Dr. Qin is initially concerned by how handsome his character is portrayed in the drama — He doesn't want the crime-fighting drama to turn into an idol romance. He even thinks Zhang Ruo Yun is too skinny.

What do you think?

4. The fearless female character, investigator Li Da Bao (played by Jiao Jun Yan), is a change from the original novel but in keeping with our current times where more women are choosing non-traditional professions.

5. Another handsome actor, Li Xian, plays the lead detective, Lin Tao, who also provides some of the much-needed comic relief.

(Doesn't he remind you of the charming Taiwanese hottie Chen Bo Lin of the In Time With You fame?)

6. The series is only 20 episodes. This is actually a big plus since Chinese dramas, especially the historical ones, are well known to have many more episodes. It also helps that the crimes are solved quickly.
