Korean illustrator gives Western fairy tales an Eastern touch
Na Young Wu is a Korean artist who has done incredible work drawing what it would look like if Western fairy tales were recreated with an Eastern touch. The inventive artist is known as Obsidian @00obsidian00 on Twitter and is famous for drawing characters for Japanese mobile games.
She has now taken her work to imagining traditional Western fairy tales like Alice in Wonderland, The Frog Prince, and Little Red Riding Hood with Eastern flavor. The fairy tale characters in her recreations look and dress more traditionally Eastern and have a new sense of regalness.
I particularly love the Beauty and the Beast drawing because the two characters look so lavish and peaceful. And notice how the beast is now a tiger. Check our her magnificent recreations and let us know which one is your favorite!
