10 Ways to celebrate New Year's Eve K-drama style
What are your plans for celebrating the New Year's Eve this year? Whether it be getting dressed in your fanciest clothes or hanging out on the couch at home, we have 10 ways for you to imagine you're in a K-drama on New Year's Eve.
1. Drinking Two Ways
The Classy Bride of the Century Way:
Put on your party clothes, grab a glass of wine, light some candles, and have a sophisticated New Year's Eve Celebration.
or the I Hear Your Voice way:
Get these awesome baseball hat contraptions and fill them up with your favorite drink. Either way, you're bound to have a good time.
2. Fireworks: I Need Romance 2012
Fireworks go with hot weather...not the freezing temperatures of New Year's Eve. But if you live in a sunnier climate and have the luck to be able to have warm weather all year round, think about finding some fireworks. In most of my favorite K-dramas, there is at lease one scene with fireworks — Boys Over Flowers, Playful Kiss, Pinocchio. I Need Romance 2012 shows just how romantic fireworks can be. Nothing says exciting night like ending it with fireworks!
3. Dress Your Best: Heirs
Get dolled up in your favorite dress. I particularly love the dress Cha Eun Sang wore in the last episode of Heirs. It's the perfect New Year's Eve dress. A bright, flashy color, longer sleeves so you don't freeze, and a fantastic silhouette. Either way, put on that dress that's been sitting in the back of your closet for the last year waiting for the perfect opportunity for you to wear it.

4. Ice Skating: Boys Over Flowers
Ice Skating with friends is a perfect way to celebrate New Year's Eve. It gets you outside, even in the coldest weather. You're guaranteed some laughs as your slip and slide over the ice. This is a great option if you want a lower key, less fuss night while still having a lot of fun. Besides, all the sparkly Christmas lights will still be up, making it that much more of a magical evening.
5. Enjoying Good Food At Restaurant With Friends: Tomorrow's Cantabile
Who doesn't love good food? Consider going out to your favorite restaurant with your best pals. Tomorrow's Cantabile is the perfect example of how fun an evening like this can be — and this way no one has to clean up when it's all over.
6. Karaoke: Dream High
If you're looking to just have a super fun, silly night filled with lots of laughter, go for karaoke. Get a group of friends together and spend the night singing every song you've ever memorized over the last 10 years. You'll be surprised at how many fun memories singing old songs can bring up and will start off the new year on a positive note.
7. Dancing The Night Away:Scent of a Woman
Formal, informal, or just two people alone in a living room. Any way you choose, dancing is an excellent option. For those just wanting to party with your friends, hold a house party and dance the night away to all your favorite K-pop tunes. For a more romantic evening, take a hint from this scene in Scent of a Woman, grab your partner, put on some mood music, and dance the night away in the comfort of your own home.
8. Kissing Someone Special At Midnight: Secret Garden
Have you been waiting for an opportunity to share your feelings with someone? Or to let someone know how much you love them? Take a note from Secret Garden and declare your feelings with a kiss at midnight. It's sure to be a romantic, K-drama kiss.
9. Cooking Up Your Favorite K-drama Meal: Playful Kiss
Whenever I see Bong Joon Gu cooking in Playful Kiss, I instantly start rummaging around in my cupboards for something to eat. The food he makes always looks SO good. Sometimes the best way to spend New Year's Eve is by picking up a fancy recipe you've been wanting to try this year and spending the time making it. It can become a yearly tradition and something to look forward to every year.
10. By Having A K-drama Marathon
Who said New Year's Eve is all about parties? But on your most comfortable pair of pajamas, grab all the snacks you can (and tissues if you're watching something like Pinocchio), and spend the whole evening indulging in the best treat of all — K-drama after K-drama after K-drama.
