K-dramas are always toying with our emotions. In one episode we might go from rolling on the floor laughing to sobbing uncontrollably. But for the K-drama actors creating these scenes, mastering the tears isn't always so easy. Some actors are too stoic, only showing a single tear that kind of looks like someone put eye drops in two minutes before filming. At the other end of the spectrum are those who go too far, wailing like a sack full of dying cats. Even the most talented K-drama actors struggle with emotional scenes from time to time, but there are some who just happen to be natural criers. Here are 12 of the most convincing K-drama criers—the ones who can pull tears from us every time.

1. Yoon Eun Hye in Coffee Prince

Much like her kissing, Eun Hye wrote the book on K-drama crying. In every drama, every time, she makes it feel real.

2. Kim Soo Hyun in Moon that Embraces the Sun

Kim Soo Hyun is another actor whose crying earns consistent praise. He goes for it, but he doesn't go overboard.

3. Yeo Jin Goo in I Miss You

It can't be a coincidence that Yeo Jin Goo has worked on dramas with both Yoon Eun Hye and Kim Soo Hyun. In the cryfest that was I Miss You, this young actor not only held his own against his more experienced costars, but he also showed a variety of convincing crying faces that broke our hearts.

4. Kwon Sang Woo in Stairway to Heaven

If we're going to talk about crying, we need to recognize some of the classics. Kwon Sang Woo is a veteran crier, and he puts his heart into it every time.

5. Son Ye Jin in Shark

Son Ye Jin's crying is more restrained here, but the exhaled sob perfectly captures the moment of breakdown.

6. Joo Won in Bridal Mask

Every once in a while, birthday boy Joo Won does the scream cry that borders on dying-cats-in-a-bag territory, but there's a reason Joo Won has a crying scene in pretty much every drama ever: he doesn't hold back. Can we expect a tearful scene in his upcoming drama Tomorrow's Cantabile?

7. Yoo Ah In in Fashion King

Say what you will about Fashion King, but Yoo Ah In is a tremendous actor who isn't afraid to do a little ugly cry.

8. Lee Yoon Ji in King 2 Hearts

Ack—my heart! This laugh/cry gets me every time. Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won were excellent in this drama as well, but Lee Yoon Ji's crying took the cake. Will someone please remind me why she isn't the lead of every drama ever?

9. Lee Hong Ki in You're Beautiful

He might be singing while he cries, but I'm just crying. Go Mi Nyu, why can't you just love him?

10. Gong Hyo Jin in The Master's Sun

What makes this so great is that she's not just crying; she's crying exactly how Tae Gong Sil would cry. She adjusted her tears to the character, which is pretty impressive.

11. Lee Joon Ki in The Joseon Gunman

Lee Joon Ki's crying can sometimes be hit-and-miss, but but he has definitely mastered it over time.

12. Eric Moon in Discovery of Romance

If you're going to do the single tear, do it like Eric. His eyes are red, and that ever-so-slight furrow in his brow shows how close he is to breaking down completely.
