2NE1's Dara & Winner's Kang Seung Yoon set to play lead roles in web drama We've Broken Up
Dara of mega K-pop group 2NE1 and Kang Seung Yoon of new hit group, Winner, have been cast as ex-lovers in the web series titled We've Broken Up.
We've Broken Up is based on a popular web cartoon on Naver, a Korean website. The plot features a couple who were college sweethearts who are forced to stay living together even after they have broken up. The series will also shed light on other problems that younger people are encountering in today's society.
Dara is set to play the role of Noh Woori, who is looking for a job while stuck living with her ex-boyfriend. Kang Seung Yoon is set to play the role of Ji Won Young, who is the singer in an indie band, and he also happens to be Woori's ex boyfriend.
Both idols already have some experience with acting. Recently Dara has been featured as a lead role in another web series titled Doctor Ian. Kang Seung Yoon also starred in MBC’s sitcom High Kick 3 back in 2012. It will also be interesting to see these two acting as ex-lovers because in real life there is a 10-year age gap between the two!
A couple of YG K-Plus models have also been cast in the web series. Kang Seung Hyun will play the role of a beautiful and insightful director of a top-notch record label, and Jang Ki Yong has been cast to play Seo Hyun Woo, a warm-hearted man who also likes Woori.
The filming of We’ve Broken Up will start this month, and it is set to premiere in June. Will you be watching?
