Poetry 101 book called ‘A Poem A Day’ shows up on episode 1 in the scene where Woo Bo Young (Lee Yoo Bi) used to work in a bookstore. The author of the namesake book, Chung Jae Chan, made a cameo appearance as a radio DJ on episode 7. There are only three more episodes to go in this drama (16 total). In another episode of Goblin, Kim Shin is also seen reading a collection of poems, which includes ‘Physics of Love,’ called ‘Perhaps the Stars Will Take Away Your Sorrow’ by Kim Yong Taek.

Ha Baek (Nam Joo Hyuk) reads Choi Gab Soo’s collection of essays, 'If My Love Is More Than Love,' to Soa (Shin Se Kyung). This book is also the medium they realize that they’ve had feelings for each other in ‘Bride of the Water God.’

4. Producer

Singer Cindy (IU) receives a gift from rookie producer Seung Chan (Kim Soo Hyun): a copy of Herman Hesse’s ‘Demian.’ She’s seen reading this book multiple times throughout the drama, including the part that goes: “No one loved him, no one was close to him … The teachers left him alone as much as they could—he was a good pupil—but he didn't try to please any of them.”

‘The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane’ by Kate DiCamillo is the children’s story Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) reads and identifies himself with in ‘My Love From Another Star.’ Both Do Min Joon and Edward Tulane are on a “miraculous journey,” and the book’s story is sprinkled throughout the drama to help the audience’s understanding of Min Joon’s situation.
