It doesn’t matter if you didn’t watch it yet, because we won’t spoil it for you! Plus, these five points will only make you want to check it out! Here are five things about the first episode of My Mister (IU and Lee Sun Gyun) that’ll hook you until the series finale.

1. My Mister is the work of a K-drama dream team

Producer Kim Won Suk of Signal and Incomplete Life (Misaeng), both of which were highly acclaimed, created this drama alongside screenwriter Park Hae Young of Another Oh Hae Young, one of the best romantic comedies hailing from Korea. You can definitely sense the mastermind behind My Mister by the way the story unfolds and events present themselves.

2. IU creates a convincing character, Lee Ji Ahn

Even if you didn’t like IU in Scarlet Heart: Ryeo two years ago, we think you should give her another chance in My Mister. Why? Because IU effectively portrays her character Ji Ahn, the hardworking 21-year-old who regularly gets harassed by a debt collector. IU stays low-key and serious on the filming set, even when the cameras are off. “I’m a bit deep and dark on set. But recently I’ve gotten better,” IU explained on V Live.

3. The setup reminds us of Goblin

What is up with a twentysomething falling in love with an ahjussi in K-dramas as of late? We saw in happen in Goblin, where Ji Eun Tak (Kim Go Eun) calls Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) an ahjussi, which loosely means an uncle in Korean. We see it again in My Mister, where Park Dong Hoon (Lee Sun Gyun) is 45 and Lee Ji Ahn (IU) 21. They’re 24 years apart and supposedly in love. We’ll have to keep an eye on how they become romantically involved.

4. The story's drama starts out strong

On last night’s episode, Lee Kwang Il (Chang Ki Yong) beats Ji Ahn (IU). This scene lasted for about two minutes and made some in the audience uncomfortable. You may ask why the drama had to start out so roughly, but sometimes a good story needs a strong scene to get you thinking. A tvN representative explained, “Kwang Il and Ji Ahn share a complicated past. Their relationship will unravel itself as the story develops,” and encouraged the audience to think of the beating scene in the bigger scheme of things.

5. Chang Ki Yong returns to the screen with a totally different type of role

Chang Ki Yong of Go Back Couple is back on screen, albeit with a pretty controversial character. “Kwang Il is a bad guy,” Ki Yong said of his character. “He suffers inside, which no one knows about.” He added, "I've wanted to play a strong character as an actor. The moment I met Kwang Il, I was attracted to him for a mysterious reason.”
