If you’ve never heard of The Rose, that’s because they’re a baby band that’s going to be the next CNBLUE. Scroll down to be the first one among your friends to know about this hip indie band, who’s throwing a concert at K-Expo in New York City on September 30 (More info here).

1. They’re an indie band

This is how The Rose sets themselves apart from the idol groups. Consisted of guitarist Woosung, pianist Dojoon, bassist Jaehyeong, and drummer Hajoon, The Rose writes their own songs. Hajoon penned their debut single ‘Sorry’ released in August 2017.

2. Debut single ‘Sorry’ got on Billboard’s list of best K-pop songs

The pop-rock song 'Sorry' got on Billboard’s list of Best K-pop Songs of 2017: Critics' Picks, next to IU's ‘Palette,’ Wanna One's ‘Energetic,’ and Sunmi's ‘Gashina.’ Billboard said on The Rose’s Sorry, "Featuring intensely evocative vocals and a melancholic brand of instrumentation that rises and falls with the heart-wrenching ballad's emotional tension, the rookie quartet delivered an unapologetically glorious listening experience."

3. Their first album debuted at no. 8 on Billboard’s World Albums chart

What a band with a track record of success! The band’s debut album ‘Void,’ which consists of 'Sorry,' 'Like We Used To,' and 'Baby,' earned no. 8 on Billboard’s World Albums chart in April.

4. Member Woosung is a K-pop Star participant

Woosung competed in K-pop Star season 1 and signed with Polaris Entertainment in 2012, long before debuting under The Rose.

5. The Rose is one of the top 5 rising K-pop acts of 2018

Like how Billboard called A.C.E one of the best new K-pop acts of 2017, the publication recognized The Rose as one of the best K-pop bets for 2018. Billboard has seen enough potential from The Rose that they believe the group “could break out past the rock scene to follow in the footsteps of F.T. Island, CNBLUE and Day6.”
