Asian stars Ariel Lin, Bolin Chen, Joe Odagiri, Wallace Chung, Zhang Han, Kamiki Ryunosuke, and Aaron Yan wowed at Seoul International Drama Awards
On September 10, the Seoul International Drama Awards honored 7 non-Korean stars with Asian Star awards. It is the first time fans have seen Ariel Lin and Bolin Chen together on stage ever since their beloved Taiwanese hit romance In Time with You. Find out which 7 Asian stars won, and see how Wallace Chung, Ariel Lin, and Aaron Yan, in particular, showed off their impressive linguistic abilities. We have the videos.
1. Wallace Chung
Wallace Chung was the first to speak. He thanked the audience in Korean and said he was very happy to see them. He then continued in English to thank the Seoul International Drama Award in supporting Chinese dramas and also thanked the fans. A popular actor from Hong Kong, Wallace has seen surging interest with his 2015 romance drama My Sunshine. He and co-star Tiffany Tang will next star in Lee Min Ho's Bounty Hunters movie.
2. Joe Odagiri
Dressed in his typically unique fashion style including a big hat, Japan's Joe Odagiri (Yae's Sakura) gave thanks for receiving the award and said he felt very happy. Saying he hoped to see more cultural exchange between Japan and Korea, he vowed to work harder to bring better works.
3. Ariel Lin
Ariel Lin accepted her award speaking fluent Chinese, Korean, and English, impressing everyone. It turned out that the Taiwanese star of In Time with You and Prince of Lan Ling majored in Korean when she was in college in Taiwan. Speaking in Korean, the "Queen of Romantic Comedy" said she was very happy to receive the award. She continued in English, saying she looked forward to more cooperation between the entertainment industries.
4. Bolin Chen
Bolin Chen expressed thanks for the award and the support from all the fans. He will continue to work hard and hopes to present better results to everyone. The handsome Taiwanese star is not only popular in Chinese-language dramas, but he has also been the darling of Korean fans ever since In Time With You, which was remade into The Time That I Loved You, 7000 Days in Korea. He has been on a roll with back-to-back projects, first with Korean actress Son Ye Jin in the movie Bad Guys Always Die, and then with Ha Ji Won in the movie Risking Life for Love.

Zhang Han, Aaron Yan, and Kamiki Ryunosuke won the Asia Star Awards which acknowledge the new rising Asian stars. Their awards were presented by Seo In Guk (The King's Face) and Lee Sung Kyung (It's Okay, That's Love), who talked about how wonderful it was to see the stars that they've seen in dramas from other Asian countries.
5. Aaron Yan
Taiwanese singer-actor Aaron Yan is one of the most favorite actors on DramaFever for his romantic comedy dramas. He first spoke in Korean to greet the fans, and then followed up in English to say he was really happy to participate in the awesome event. He expressed thanks to the organizers and the fans from the deepest part of his heart, and concluded with "Wherever you are, I love you all. Thank you very much. I'll keep up with my hard work. Kamsamnida ['Thank you' in Korean]."
6. Kamiki Ryunosuke
Japanese actor Kamiki Ryunosuke expressed gratitude for the award and thanked fans from around the world for liking his acting and his dramas. He will continue to work harder. He said thanks in Japanese and in Korean.
7. Zhang Han
Hot and handsome actor Zhang Han is the Chinese "Gu Jun Pyo" who rose to fame acting in the Chinese version of Boys Over Flowers. He expressed thanks with the hope that Chinese drama will catch up and impress more Asian fans.
