The latest highly-anticipated K-drama I'm Not a Robot premieres today on DramaFever! To celebrate the first episode of this fun romantic comedy, let’s delve into seven reasons you should be enthused over the male lead, Yoo Seung Ho!

1. He’s been cute since forever.

Then 7-year-old Yoo Seung Ho starred in the heartwarming film The Way Home, which became a huge national success. In this 2002 film, he played a spoiled child from Seoul stuck with his grandma in the countryside for the summer.

2. He's been acting for 17 years.

His career started with family melodrama Gashigogi in 2000.

3. He finished his military service young and strong.

Yoo Seung Ho jokes that he’s a “winner” for having finished the military in his early 20s. In comparison, many Korean actors, like Lee Min Ho or Kim Soo Hyun, enlist in their late twenties. Yoo has said in an interview, “It’s a fond memory now, but back then it was so taxing. When work gets tough, I think of the military days. The repetitive work was boring, but I wasn’t worried much about anything either. Sometimes I miss it.”

4. He ‘s super humble.

With the success of Ruler: Master of the Mask, he realized that he “wasn’t an inept actor.” He says, “This drama showed my possibilities as an actor.”

5. I'm Not a Robot is Yoo Seung Ho’s first romantic comedy.

On his on-screen character, Min Kyu he says, “Though I was initially very scared about my first romantic comedy, I was drawn to my character, who is serious but also a little odd. I’m enjoying the filming process.”

6. Initially, he struggled switching gears from serious K-dramas to a romantic comedy.

For Yoo Seung Ho, who’s been in dark and serious shows like Remember or Ruler: Master of the Mask, it’s been hard to switch gears into a romantic comedy. He explains, “I did find working on this drama difficult. Till now, I’ve usually played roles that are dark and have a hidden past, so I feel more accustomed to those kinds of characters. It was hard for me to get into the mindset of the lead of a melodrama, so it’s been an interesting experience.”

7. His on-screen partner Chae Soo Bin has been a big help to him.

Regarding the aforementioned switch of gears, he says, “I’d heard that when you’re in a melodrama, it helps if you truly care about your acting partner when you’re playing out scenes, and I think that’s true. In scenes when I’m interacting with her, I feel more at ease, and when I have to film by myself, I feel her absence. She’s been a big help to me.”
