7 Sweet facts Gong Hyo Jin and Jo Jung Suk shared about Jealousy Incarnate
Jealousy Incarnate is a cute romantic comedy on our intrinsic, inevitable nature to get jealous of people around our love interests. At the press conference, the two stars shared cute confessions—did you know Jo Jung Suk had been a fan of Gong Hyo Jin?—among others. Scroll down to reveal them all!
1. At first I worried that people would hate my character for cheating
Gong Hyo Jin says of her character, Pyo Na Ri, who flirts back and forth with two men in the drama. She explains, “But then when a woman reaches her 30s, it’s only natural to consider different men around her. I thought it would be better to disclose than beautify.”
2. I’ve been a fan of Gong Hyo Jin
“So when I heard I would be filming with her, there was no reason not to take the role,” Jo Jung Suk says on why he decided to film Jealousy Incarnate. He says he’d been wanting to film with her for a long time and, as they filmed together, he felt she’s a really good actress.
3. Weather reporters wear push-ups!
“I had to wear butt pads and outfits that were clean but sexy, meaning clothes that showed the curves, so I wore those in the beginning,” Gong Hyo Jin says.
“Weather reporters have to wear push-ups, and that was trendy among them,” Gong Hyo Jin explains. “I was shocked when I first heard about it. The fact that push-ups are necessary is like their character. I hope people think of it as funny.”
Unfortunately, some weather reporters took offense at the drama’s exaggerated portrayal of weather reporters wearing butt pads. (Click here to read more about it)
4. I rooted for Jo Jung Suk after reading the script
“It took a while to decide (to film) because I thought I got too old to take another role in romantic comedy,” Gong Hyo Jin shares. After reading the script, which was before Jo Jung Suk was casted for his role, Gong Hyo Jin says she “told the scriptwriter, ‘This role is for Jo Jung Suk.’”
5. Jo Jung Suk’s skin is clean and bright like white jade
6. Pyo Na Ri isn’t a typical, Cinderellaesque K-drama girl
“She isn’t nice or naive, nor does she put up with things,” Gong Hyo Jin says on her character. “Like an ordinary female working professional, she complains about her boss on his back—not in a mean way, but in a funny way.” She added, “She says yes in front of her boss but smirks behind the back. She also takes revenge.”
7. I'm his sunbae!
At the Jealousy Incarnate press conference, Gong Hyo Jin said, “(Jo Jung Suk and I) are the same age,” and soon after added, “I am his sunbae.”
