It’s common to hear about K-pop stars who can also act. But what about actors who can also sing? While both creative mediums require great care and attention to delivery and emotion, not everyone can tackle singing and acting. Here are 7 top Korean actors who may be better known for their acting, but can successfully translate their emotions into musical vocal delivery as well.

1. Gong Yoo puts his heart and soul into his acting performances. And appropriately, into his singing as well. Similar to his acting, his singing is soothing and very unassuming. At a Japanese fan meeting in 2010, the Goblin actor sang Eric Benet’s “The Last Time” live to stunning results.

2. Ji Chang Wook (Love in Trouble) may be better known as an action star, but contrary to his strengths in the genre, he started his entertainment career in musical theater. Enjoy his performance of "I Will Protect You" from one of his dramas, Healer.

3. Lee Joon Ki looks like he could have debuted in the entertainment industry as a K-pop idol, but he actually debuted as a model in 2001. He released his first single album in April 2007. Here in this video clip, the actor sang a cover of “For You” by EXO, off of the Scarlet Heart: Ryeo soundtrack from which he starred in, at his Seoul fan meeting in January 2017.

4. Lee Min Ho has released two full albums so far: “My Everything” (2013) and “Song for You” (2014). The last present he gave fans in the form of music before serving his military duty on May 12 was the internationally-released single, “Always”. His previous single was “Run”, featuring Chinese duo Yu Quan, from the Chinese-Korean co-produced movie he starred in, Bounty Hunters (2016). Watch the music video for that song below!

5. Joo Won’s (My Sassy Girl) love for theater and arts started in middle school. His first foray into entertainment began as a member of the children’s television program co-ed group, FREES. Shortly after, he became a musical actor, was noticed by a representative from his current company Sim Entertainment through his work, and the rest is history! He’s sang several OSTs for shows he has starred in, and below is one of those, “Innocente” from Tomorrow's Cantabile.

6. Jang Geun Suk (Daebak) may have played a musician on-screen as the lead vocalist for the fictional band A.N.Jell in You’re Beautiful (2009), but he is a pop star in real life as well. He has a hefty amount of music under his belt with a discography that includes solo work to his joint effort as part of the duo Team H. Below is “Stay” from his first Japanese album, Just Crazy.

7. For those who have followed Kim Soo Hyun’s career, his singing isn’t much of a surprise given his break-out role was due to the teen musical drama Dream High (2011). Below is Kim singing “Dreaming” from the show’s OST.
