8 hot K-drama stars before and after military service
With the news that Lee Min Ki is leaving for military service and that Super Junior's Leeteuk has returned, it's a great reminder that when our favorite stars enlist, they aren't gone forever. In fact, sometimes those stars return with an added air of maturity and charisma. To see how military service treats K-drama actors, here are 8 hot stars before, during, and after their military service:
1. Hyun Bin
Before (in his last pre-enlistment drama, Secret Garden)
Instead of enlisting in the celebrity soldier division (which no longer exists), Hyun Bin went all-out, enlisting as a Marine. That training probably came in handy for his first post-enlistment movie, The Fatal Encounter:
2. Lee Joon Ki
During (Awww, he looks like a cute little kid!):
Although military service cost him the lead in Faith, it allowed him to blossom from a pretty flower boy into a handsome man. Even he has said that he likes the way he looks as he ages.
3. Gong Yoo
Before (in his Coffee Prince days)
Not that different, but he does look more mature in his post-military days.
4. Kim Nam Gil
Before (In Bad Guy, which they had to use body doubles to finish because he left before filming was over.)
The most shocking part here is probably seeing Kim Nam Gil without his signature revenge 'stache.
5. So Ji Sub
Before (in What Happened in Bali)
After (in his comeback movie Rough Cut):
One thing is for sure: So Ji Sub benefited from changing wardrobe styles during his military years.
Before (in Runaway: Plan B)
Yes, Rain, you ARE 30 sexy.
7. Jo In Sung
Jo In Sung's time in the Air Force helped make his already pretty face even manlier.

8. Ji Hyun Woo
After (in his comeback drama, the currently airing Trot Lovers):
