9 Handsome Asian drama royals who make you wish you could travel back in time
There are many actors who have played in historical dramas. For this article, I wanted to present the handsome leading men who look exceptionally attractive in royal outfits. So the criteria is simple: Handsome and Royal. An example would be Kim Soo Hyun as the king in The Moon that Embraces the Sun.
Who can forget Kim doing the royal push-ups in his bedroom? He looked so cute as a king, even when he was crying.
Jung has the face and the build to look good in historical and modern garbs. His mother even weaved the fabric for his robes in The Night Watchman's Journal.
He also looked good in the royal bath tub.
He also had to wear a tracksuit once he time-traveled to modern Seoul. I now think Park is a chameleon. He can look good in almost anything and any drama.
Feng portrays one of the three real-life most handsome men in China's history. The prince even wore a scary mask when he went into a battle so that his handsome face would not be distracting.
For most of the show, Seo In Guk had to battle wits with his cruel and calculating father and other ruthless enemies. I thought he looked the best in royal battle armor.
Hyun Bin presents a very masculine royal look. Wouldn't you want him to look royal again in a historical drama, preferably one with lots of romance?
For most of the show, Jang's character actually looked "casual" because he liked to roam outside of the palace. He looked handsome anyway.
Im Ju Hwan is so handsome that he looks more beautiful even than the leading lady —just check out the above photo. But he can also look very menacing as a villian in The Technicians movie. His performance in Shine or Go Crazy was most impressive, and I hope to see more of him.
If you love handsome actors playing royalty, don't forget to check out Hwajung, where Cha Seung Won plays the conflicted Prince Gwanghae! It premieres on DramaFever April 13. You can sign up for new episode alerts HERE.
