1. It Started With A Kiss (2005) starring Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng

The manga series  Itazura na Kiss (Playful Kiss) has been an ever-popular romantic comedy made famous by author and illustrator Kaoru Tada. When Irie Naoki, the boy with an IQ of 200, turned down the love confession of not-so-smart Aihara Kotoko, he had no idea that fate would intervene and lead Kotoko to move into his house following an earthquake that destroyed her home. They will eventually fall in love and marry. The Taiwanese live-action adaptation not only became a record-breaking success, it also launched the careers for Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng.

2.  They Kiss Again (2007) starring Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng

The success of It Started With A Kiss led to an even more popular sequel, They Kiss Again, about the couple's married life and relationship struggles. Both It Started With A Kiss and They Kiss Again have been DramaFever viewers' perennial favorites.

3.  Hayate the Combat Butler (2011) starring Park Shin Hye and George Hu

This Japanese manga series, written and illustrated by Kenjiro Hata, is about a teenage boy, Hayate Ayasaki, who escapes from debt collectors and starts a new job as a butler protecting Nagi Sanzenin, a young heiress. Both Park Shin Hye and George Hu were already popular actors when they starred in this drama series. Park Shin Hye's voice was dubbed.

4.  Skip Beat! (2011) starring Ivy Chen, Choi Si Won and Lee Dong Hae

The Japanese manga  Skip Beat! (スキップ・ビート! Sukippu Bīto!) by Yoshiki Nakamura tells the story of Kyoko Mogami, a 16-year-old girl who embarks on a quest for revenge after she discovers that her childhood friend and romantic idol, Sho Fuwa, has been using her to support him while he pursues stardom. Mogami decides that she will become a star herself.

Super Junior's Siwon and Donghae stepped in when the originally designated actors changed their plans. However, it turned out to be an  ideal fit as both Korean idols were perfect for playing idol stars in the story. Donghae also sang one of the theme songs. Siwon and Donghae's voices were dubbed. Although Ivy's character is still a naive girl in the adaptation, all three main characters were older in age than in the manga.

5.  Absolute Boyfriend (2010), aka Absolute Darling, starring Gu Hye Sun and Jiro Wang

Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend) is a Japanese manga series by Yuu Watase. It tells the story of Riiko Izawa who has never had a boyfriend. She accidentally orders a robot as a perfect lover who she names as Night. Eventually Night develops real human emotions and they fall in love.

For the live-action adaptation, the Taiwanese drama team specifically wanted the popular Gu Hye Sun, who had starred in the extremely popular  Boys Over Flowers. She was paired with Taiwanese pop idol Jiro Wang, whose facial features and lean physique made him a perfect Absolute Boyfriend
