Actress Yoon So Jung passed away in the afternoon of Friday, June 16, 2017, at St. Mary’s hospital in the Gangnam district of Seoul. The accomplished actress was 72. Her latest K-drama role was queen Ja Hye in My Sassy Girl. The funeral will take place on Monday, June 19, 2017.

Last week, the actress was hospitalized for a cold that had turned into pneumonia, Chosun reported. Her condition quickly worsened when she developed septicemia (blood poisoning), a deadly response to a bacterial infection.

The funeral will take in the style of Korean Play Actors’ Association. The actors and fans will officially bid their goodbye Monday morning in Seoul’s Marronnier Park.

Actress Yoon So Jung was born in 1944 and had her first play appearance when she was 24. She married a fellow play actor Oh Hyun Kyung. They had two children.

The prolific actress currently stars in My Sassy Girl, which was 100% pre-produced before it premiered. Last year, she filmed the romantic drama Fantastic.

Last week, we had another loss. Singer Yim Jae Beom had lost his wife Song Nam Young to cancer.
