This is a proud moment for K-drama fans. NBC premiered Better Late Than Never on Aug. 23, 2016, which is an adaptation of Grandpas Over Flowers, an adorable Korean reality show.

Instead of Lee Soon Jae, Shin Goo, Park Geun Hyung, Baek Il Sub and their porter, Lee Suh Jin, Better Late Than Never stars William Shatner, Henry Winkler, George Foreman and Terry Bradshaw, accompanied by comedian Jeff Dye. The five men will backpack through Asia: Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Phuket and more!

In the first episode, the cast visits Tokyo and appears in a Japanese morning show. It was received very well with over seven million viewers, according to Variety.

This is the first time a Korean reality series was adapted into an American one. Park Chan Wook’s thriller film Oldboy and a handful of dramas have been adapted as American shows previously.

It’s amazing how influential Korean shows have become, and how the show’s format transcends cultural boundaries, isn’t it? Korean fans think so for sure.
