In early October, many Chinese companies give their workers three days of paid leave to celebrate National Day. The Chinese government rearranges the weekends so that everyone can take a five-day holiday known as Golden Week.

Not surprisingly, having a country of 1.3 billion people who all have vacation during the same five day period creates some pretty intense traffic jams. Recently, authorities of questioned whether the holiday shouldn't be split up or whether some people could be put on a different schedule.
