An artifact of the legendary Bruce Lee revealed his goals and expressed his determination to meet those goals. The artifact is a letter declaring his "Definite Chief Aim". His letter was written in January 1969, four years before his premature death at the age of 32. It was written during a difficult time for the martial arts star. He penned his goals with the dedication to make it big in Hollywood as an Asian American. He crafted his aims with a promise of a return for his desires. Here is the evidence of his inspiring words to himself (transcription posted below):

My Definite Chief Aim

I, Bruce Lee, will be the first highest paid Oriental super star in the United States. In return, I will give the most exciting performances and render the best of quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting 1970 I will achieve world fame and from then onward till the end of 1980 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness.

 Bruce Lee

Jan. 1969

Unfortunately, he died four years after writing this letter but what's amazing is that he met and superseded all the goals he set out to achieve in this letter to himself. He is still regarded as one of the greatest Asian American super stars in the U.S and the world. And his networth exceeded his goal of $10,000,000 as well. Bruce Lee set his goals, and set out to make them come true.

If you were to sit down and put pen to paper, what would your Definite Chief Aim be? [Source:]
