Campaign shames passed out drunk people by turning them into living billboards
If you have ever fallen asleep drunk on the streets of Japan, be careful because the next time it happens, your image might get turned into a live billboard. A new video that is part of a campaign by the Yaocho Bar Group shows several drunk Japanese businessmen and women passed out on the streets in order to shame them into reducing alcohol consumption.
The inebriated individuals are then surrounded by a white frame with the hashtag #nomisugi which means "too drunk." The video warns against the dangers of working extremely long hours and then going out and getting very drunk without monitoring your alcohol intake.
As a way of shaming the drunk and passed out people, the video encourages bystanders to take pictures of the intoxicated individuals and post them with the hashtag. Hopefully this campaign will help reduce the number of drunk people on the streets in Japan, but is it the best method?
