CASTING NEWS: Han Groo out, Jin Se Yun in for Scholar Who Walks the Night
The casting for upcoming vampire sageuk Scholar Who Walks the Night continues to change almost weekly, and now Jin Se Yun is the latest actress in contention for the leading female role opposite Lee Joon Ki and TVXQ's Changmin.
You may recall that Han Groo was previously offered the role, but she ended up backing out. There were rumors that MBC was going to go for a more established actress opposite Lee Joon Ki, and now it's official that Jin Se Yun of Bridal Mask and Doctor Stranger has been offered the role.
If she accepts, she will play the daughter of a nobleman. After her father is falsely accused of being a traitor, she has to disguise herself as a man and work in a bookstore, where she falls for a mysterious scholar who happens to be a vampire.
Lee Joon Ki is still considering the role of the vampire scholar, and Changmin is also considering a role as the crown prince, which means that nothing is set in stone yet. Who knows? Maybe next week, the entire cast will be different again! Regardless of how the final casting pans out, Scholar Who Walks the Night is set to air in July on MBC.
What do you think about Jin Se Yun in this role? Do you hope this character lives up to her reputation of suddenly dying? Have you enjoyed her in previous roles? Does the thought of trading Han Groo for Jin Se Yun make you feel like this?
