Check out the 10th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival
Attention West Coast drama fans! DramaFever recommends a trip to San Diego this October for the 10th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival. Yes, the 10th Annual! This year marks a decade that the San Diego Asian Film Foundation has been bringing great Asian entertainment to film fans.
The festival runs for two weeks with films from all over Asia: Cambodia, South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, India, and Asian films not from Asia - so add in Asian American and Asian Canadian films.
Film highlights include Children of Invention (USA), Thirst (South Korea), Be Sure To Share (Japan), Beast Stalker (Hong Kong), 9500 Liberty (USA) and Red Cliff (China).
Something very cool this year is the Target Ten: Free Films at Four. Thanks to Target and to mark the festival's 10th anniversary, films at 4 PM weekdays between October 15-29 are free! (Even though these films are free, you must get a ticket at the box office.)
Also check out Blowfish, a live hip hop musical showcase. Performances will feature up and coming West Coast artists Lyrics Born, Kero One, Vox Merger, and members Zen, Dannu, and KeyKool of The Visionaries. Blowfish takes place 8pm, Saturday, October 24.
